I think the original cage is black but the guy I bought it from (in the picture there) painted them red. I think it looks great :)

He said there was some electrical mod. Under the seat there's a wire that gets broken. He or a previous buyer got a special replacement from a guy in Germany.

Wow, those Honda's are sweet dude!!

Thanks Dev (and Barn), I figured you might like them. :) I'm working on the Interceptor collection (3 more to go from the first and second generation ones). I really like those Honda V4's. I wish they would make a version of the VF1000R with today's technology. Even being 22 years old, that bike is still quite capable. It's surprising quick with that 16" front wheel and extremely stable at speed.

I was looking at a KLR out in South Park (Sedalia?) when Blake piped up. He knew I liked them as well and someone on Advrider was selling his. So I took a bus down to Tulsa (man what a pain that was) and rode the bike back. Here's the ride report for that little trip:

They are fun, no doubt. I tend to run the Gixxer out at IMI but I had the 1000R out there last weekend and did a few laps with it. Eventually, the Interceptor collection will look like this:

http://www.boulder.swri.edu/%7Eterrell/bikes/interceptor_montage_small.jpg

I should have the restoration work on the 500 finished by summer. That will be a fun bike to ride at IMI.

Nothing "farmed out" personally rebuilt or replaced 80%.
That's right, for a mear $1000 and 4 months labor you too can have an $800 cafe racer.:banghead:

(Paint job = $8 of Flat Black and Red Rustoleum paint.
Baked on everything but the frame (too big to fit in the oven)).

Slo. Love the clean look of the Gix (and the 502). You probably ride passengers, but a trick carbon hanger for your pipe and yanked pegs would look all kinds of SPIES. :D

Do Suzuki's still come standard with seat cowls a la the SRAD's?

Thanks man.... but yes, I do ride 2-up quite often, not as often as last year though. I still need a PC for the GSXR and get it tuned..... Just trying to figure out if I should keep this bike and get the usual; rear sets, levers, wheels, ceramic wheel bearings, etc......

But yes, they do come with the solo seat cowls. I think my past 04' zx10r was the only bike I have purchased in the past few years that did not come with one.

From what the dealer told me yesterday. Suzuki is the only manufacture that is still adding the rear seat cowl. I know for sure that Kawi isn't doing it. Nice bikes Jay!

THIS was my bike:
http://www.jamesvance.com/CSCPics/bikes/my_98daytona.jpg

She ended up being a casualty to me listening to a self-serving over-dominant she-bitch who never liked me owning a motorcycle.

Fortunately - she (the bike - not the psycho bitch) is in the hands of a loving owner who is also on the CSC.

Then...

THIS became my unicorn -- which I VERY briefly caught:
http://www.jamesvance.com/CSCPics/bikes/my_03-rsv1000r.jpg

Which THEN became a casualty of my divorce from the ver-dominant she-bitch who never liked me owning a motorcycle.

No idea where she (the unicorn of a motorcycle) went.

Right now I'm sans-motorcycle :(

Anyone planning on getting a divorce and want to one up their hateful soon-to-be-ex and sell me their bike for like $10.00?

I plan on drag racing it this year at Bandimere, but theres still many changes that are going to happen to the bike....
Frame will be powdercoated black, new swing arm (braced)
new wheels
possible full motor build (for boost)

For years I wanted a turbo'd bike for drag racing but never did it, I have the GSXR to keep near stock for twisties and occasional track days, but the busa will be going through surgery soon and get finished.

The one on the left (Helmet in seat) is mine. I came soooo close to trading for a ZX-14 on saturday, the only thing that stopped me was the 8200 a year insurance price. (I'm not wreckless, I dont have any tickets, I had one accident that wasnt my fault and it's still 8200 for the year.) Sucks being a single male under 25... in some aspects. Nope. I got home last Saturday at around 4pm. I hit Laramie and headed off on 287. I stopped at the border for a "Welcome Home" pic and then Motohaus for a quick snap. After that, I got on 34 to 25 south and home.
