 Really surprised this wasn't on the board already.

This might be a little hard to hold your line through. 50 ton boulder hits 285 at Parmalee Gulch. They are advising that 1 to 2 ft boulders could be hitting the roads for the next couple weeks because of this rain & snow.

Keep an eye out when in the tight canyons this weekend. That certainly wouldn't be fun to find on the road when leaned over coming around a corner.

Stay safe!

Crap, Parmalee is a fun road...

Anyone know if there was enough accumulation on the roads in places like deckers and pine junction to have them put sand down?

Edited because quick reply only took one sentence of my post. :banghead:

I've heard that Deckers and basically that entire area got dumped on and is very sandy. I'd suggest that any rides this weekend head North where they didn't get as much snow. Peak to Peak might be a good ride this weekend. :dunno:

FWIW: that pic is of a different highway. 285 is clear now (a much smaller rock landed on it), but it's probably going to be a little sketchy on those roads for a while.

Keep your eyes peeled.

Um, yup I mentioned it...http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12460

CDOT is warning all drivers/riders that more boulders are possible as well because the ground is still saturated and since the higher elevations above 6000 feet have gotten quite a bit of snow, the boulder falling will continue for a while until we get some dry weather for a bit.

So, be aware and be careful!

I'll be sure to point my foot at that one as I go by...:)

An experienced rider should be able to avoid that little stone with minimal adjustment to their line......:)
