I've got a few minor cracks (at body panel screw mount points) on my ride. I'd like to use something that fuses as well as builds up strength. I want to only apply it on the inside-so as not to see the repair.

Your thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks.

I have seen people use JBWeld and have great results. Just have to prep the plastic well :)

You can do it yourself too; the right way. It isn't that difficult.

Weld-On #4707 ABS Glue.

I need to get some too.
I found it online cheap but want to check if it's available locally at plastic supply or maybe RC hobbie shop.

Are you planning on getting a gallon?

This works and for under four bucks. Fast, easy... fixed. Comes in a little 1oz bottle. I think I ended up using about 5-7 drops. It binds in 10 seconds and fuses the parts together with the strength of the original.

Thanks to all for their suggestions. And yes Jeff, if 'n you want to borrow some, I'll split the cost. Unless of course you've so much broken plastic that you need a gallon:shocked:, ha.

you guys should consider getting a plastic welder theyre not that much and they really do work better... i do interior repair on cars for dealerships and i have about a dozen different ways to fix plastic but honestly the best way is .....you guessed it a plastic welder and if your a little practiced you can do it on the inside without damaging the paint much at all. that is depending on the size of the crack... i do have a plastic welder if you guys need use of it but i live in canon city.

How does a plastic welder work? I've used mix-gas and plasma, but I don't think that it would be the same. A dissertation if you please.

I have been thinking about getting a plastic welder (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=41592) from Harbor Freight on sale for $39.99 right now, it does require a compressor. It will do ABS, so it will work for the Sprint bodywork, which I have plenty of broken pieces around to practice on.

Northern Tool has an airless plastic welder (http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_384313_384313) for $199.99.
