Any recommendations for a mesh jacket? Sitting in traffic with the leathers is getting a little rough. I'm thinking of purchasing some stylish mesh riding attire to alleviate my overheating problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I used to have the one Joe Rocket made (forgot the name). I went down wearing that jacket and it help up very well, pretty much just got dirty.

I have a Joe Rocket Phoenix. It's been a great jacket so far, haven't had any problems with it.

I have a fully vented Vanson leather jacket that works extremely well. But if you want the mesh-type, Vanson also has these:

The Vanson Ventmax is pretty pimp. I think I'm going to retire the leathers for the summer except for my mountain runs. Toooo hot!

I also have a pheonix jacket. Is great for the summer, when it is just way to hot for the leather.

I recommend the Fieldsheer Mach 1 - it's the same concept as the Joe Rocket Phoenix, but it comes with hard armor and a full-sleeve zip-out lining - all for the low price of $120 IIRC ($140 at the most). And I like the colors better too. Looks like they changed it a bit for 2004 - mine doesn't have the adjustment on the forearm, and the MSRP is $129... it also doesn't mention anything about the zip-out lining :dunno:

I sold my Phoenix to Chadwick. It held up well for me. Curious to see how it handled his get off yesterday.

Got a JR Phoenix too, never went down in it though, but I was with Big-J when he crashed in his and it held up well. Glad to here you got rid of your Big-J :D , it was going to be bad enough ryding the same bike and color of bike, without us having the same color and type of jacket :gay:

P.S. Check out this I posted a while back for keeping you cool while ryding

I just got the New Alpinestars T-Stunt Mesh. $197.oo at Fey Myers with our discount. I love the coat. Feels like you are not wearing anything at all but it still has all the armor to keep you safe.

Erico has a Triumph brand mesh jacket that must be made by Fieldsheer for $130 that I'm thinking pretty hard about. I hate to be hot. But I also hate to be scarred for life. :P

I've got the JR Phoenix as well. Great for hot days. Soak it down with the hose, then shake the excess off before riding. Depending on the temp, it will keep you really cool for about 30 min when it dries completely.
