I need to do a 4000 mi service on my SV650S and the manual mentions a PAIR system inspection. What in the world is that? And how do I do it?

I didn't know the SV had a PAIR valve...anyways it's an air injection system that helps reduce emissions by injecting fresh air into the exhaust promoting the combustion of unburnt fuel. The only really bad thing it does is create some "popping" on downshifts. It doesn't cost you any horsepower and I can't think of any reason why inspecting it would be a benefit to you, so wouldn't worry too much about getting it "inspected". Many times when aftermarket exhausts are installed this system is removed or disabled.
