Camera suggestions

So I've been looking at getting a camera, perhaps even two (having a rear view, passenger peg-mounted camera in addition to a tank camera or helm camera would be nice) but I really have no idea what I should be looking for. Memory stick cameras? Mini DVD? Tape?

I know that I'll want one with a port to hook in a seperate lens (i.e. helmet cam) - any suggestions?
