Well, its been a few weeks since I've hit the canyons and now that my tires are scrubbed in and ready to go Im anxious to get out there. I will be at the Morrison Conoco by 9:15 and want to leave no later than 10:00. I know there is always the normal crowd that meets up there but if you are new to the area or riding in general and just want to go for a more relaxed ride that is what this will be. I know a couple newer riders wanted to do an easier ride a few weeks ago and JustSomeDude and I headed it up but it got a little messy when two groups unexpectedly merged. I'd like to avoid that this time so if you want to follow me on an easier paced ride post in here so we can have a definite group.

If people are interested then we'll get an idea of the group ability in the morning, go a little ways stop briefly to see how everyone is doing, and then be on our way. Not sure of the route entirely yet but it will most definitely involve Pine Junction / Horsepower Hill and then go from there.

Well, post in here if your interested, I'll be there at 9:15 leaving by 10:00, look for a guy with a blue leather jacket and a blue Superhawk.

Hope to hear from some of ya :)

I would be game. I've got a buddy who just got an R1 and has been wanting to hit the curves a little bit. I'll get in touch with him and let you know.

Sounds good, if people have a suggestion other than Pine Junction I'm open but its probably the most entertaining ride I know...

I'm thinking about joining you for this ride. It would give me a good chance to meet some forum members and get a look at where you like to ride. Where exactly is the Conoco? I'm live in Littleton and am not very familiar with that area. Thanks.

I'll check out some routes tomorrow and get a definite one hammered down. I have to stop about every 100 for gas so there wont be any huge stretches without rest.

Κανελλόπουλος

The conoco is off of C-470 and Morrison road. Get off C-470 heading west on Morrison road and it is the first big gas station on the right.

Be happy to have ya Tyrel, do they just think your bad luck because of your buddy's incident?

Talked to my buddy and we both are game for the ride so add two to your list. I'm on an 05 FZ6 and he is on an 01 R1.

Ok so the route will either be Morrison - Parmallee - 285 - Pine Junction - Deckers and back out.

or

C-470 to 6th/I-70 and either one of those to 119 and either 119 all the way to boulder or 119 to 72 and then back down to golden.

The advantage to Pine Junction is that I know the roads pretty well whereas I've never been on that golden gate route.

That's easy. Take 93 north out of Morrison, then 46 west, which is Golden Gate Canyon Rd, then north on Mountain Base Rd thru Golden Gate Canyon Park, then north on 119 the Peak to Peak to either Coal Creek Canyon (72) or Boulder Canyon, then catch 93 south to where ever.

One note- From the map, looks like 119N runs into 72N between Rollinsville and Nederland, and we could just keep going north on 72 to Estes Park, and then cut across east on 34 to I25 and super-slab it back. Just another possibility I thought I'd throw out...

It was a pleasure to ride with you all. That was my first canyon ride. It was a blast and it was a good pace (except for some of those 25mph zones :)). I look forward to riding with you all again. - Tim - Anniversary GSXR
