I have a brand spanking new Metzler ME Z6 (Thanks TFOG! You guys are awesome! ) That has a screw in it. The screw is in the tread and is all the way through. Is this safe to plug? Remember, it is in the Hawk so it will not be going terribly fast. I really hate to have to buy another brand new tire when this one has just a couple hundred miles on it.

Dana,

I would have a radial patch put in it. I think TFOG can help you out.

I am 100% sure TFOG can hook me up. Unfortunately, the bike is in a parking lot right now with no way to transport it to TFOG :( I was hoping I could just plug it and still be safe since the hole is in the tread. Thanks for the suggestion of a radial patch. That does sound like the right way to go :)

Actually, after reading a LOT of forums, I will patch the tire in the parking lot just to get it to TFOG so I can get a brand new tire put on. An inexpensive tire patch is not worth my life. With as much as I ride a new tire is the best thing to do.

Being in the motorcycle industry on the shop side of things i would NOT recommend doing this. If it was the rear tire that would be a different story, or if it was for emergency use only to get somewhere to replace your tire but i would NOT keep it in for any length of time.
