I have herd the 6000 mile service is really good for them. Dials it in and makes it more pissed than it already is .I hope they do a good job on her and as for the problem and the oil leak its minor im sure .The service writer said it sounded like fuel , fire , Im sure they have seen worse .The leak is on top of rear cylinder and I told him about it and he documented where and said no problem , so far so good .Shes gonna be gone for so long I guess theres only one guy certified to work on ducati there but I bought the bike there so would like to stay loyal and have service done there aswell .Is the beemer a pain to get serviced ?

not really. my dad is one of the best bemmer guys in the state. :D and he's free. especially on the newer oil head boxers and k-bikes. the dealer down here's tried to talk him into working there some but he's not interested. anything we need diagnostics for (computer stuff) the dealer can do in short order. all the mechanics here in town are certified as far as i know (3 or 4 of them) and they can handle anything from about 50 year old bemmers to brand new ones.

8) Econoclast in Denver now has Ben Fox of Fox Racing Engines (Ducati Gurus) as their service manager. Fay, ummm... well. Hope all works out good. Love that 998 of yours... :)

Iconoclast. Just didn't want to make them out to sound like "budget rent a bike" or anything... But yeah they're good guys, personally I'd take a Duc to Ben over Fay anyday.

I think its just usually what happends when a shop gets really big and things just start to happen. Like the old saying "too many indians and not enough cheifs", things start to suffer and fall through the cracks and then no one wants to make the desision to fix it....

Hey duc998cs, I hope they can get fixed real soon. When we were out on our last ride, I noticed my chain was loose. I do not have a big torque wrench so I went to a dealership here in the Springs to have it tightened. I the process of tightening my chain, they dropped my bike. It was a bummer but they are going to replace all the plastic parts, even the ones with only a slight scratch, upper cowel, mid cowel right side, blinker, mirror, brake lever, bar end, the big huge one piece plastic tail section the seat sits on, and the rear wheel. The guy caught the bike on the way down so it was a soft landing. But because they had a tools and stool around it had a few scratches in it. Nothing cracked, broken or dented, just some small scratches. I feel for them but they said the scratches were so small they should be able to sell my old parts to someone who wrecks his bike hard for cost and it won't cost them anything except the profit they would have made on the new parts. Anyway, they are taking care of it and I soon will have all new plastic to replace my minorly scratched new plastic.

And they have to pay for it for some little tiny scratches. I have dropped one of my old bikes in the garage and had to live with the damage cause I was to cheap the replace the part because of some tiny scratches. I owned the bike and made every effort not to drop it. These guys are not as carefull so it is coming out of someones pocket.. or butt.

got a point there rich!! and they are taking care of it right which is cool too. if you consider rock chips and things from your Mach 6 runs on that beast you're actually probably better off plastic-wise.
