I must have strapped my bike to much on the front and blown a fork seal. Its an 05 R1. There is fluid on the caliper and its obviously blown. Does anyone know the best thing to do? Should I take the fork off and bring it in? Any reccomendations of a mechanic in the Denver area? Is it easy enough to do myself. I have never messed with suspension or even settings for that matter.

Thanks!

TK/Faster Motorsports  probably cheaper if you take it off and bring it in rather than on the bike.. but I would give them a call and see if they can get you in.. :)

Yup....taking it off and getting it to Faster! is a good plan. It's not hard work, but does require a few special tools.

Also, do a very careful inspection of your brake pads. If they got soaked in fork oil they won't work so good anymore. Pretty easy and cheap insurance to just replace them! Finally make sure you get all of the oil off of your rotor.
