Or better yet, just film in front of a blue screen, wear a blue outfit, and then drop in whatever backgroud you want, instantly your subject disappears.

I've seen this before. There are cameras on the back of the outfit, as well as various processers, that display the images they are capturing, as they would be seen through the garment.

It's real technology.

Barn is right. That actually is a real jacket. I've read numerous articles about that. It works on the same premises as the Aston Martin in the last James Bond movie, only that wasn't real.
