Hi, I'm new to this site. Just getting back into riding, but maybe I'll be able to join a group ride one of these days. :)

This morning a friend sent a great email about his Dad who took a dirt trip up the Continental Divide Trail last week. Although this is a street forum, I thought this link was worth passing on...

Jim is the Dad's name, he's been riding and racing bikes his entire life. He's now retired and in his 60's, and he and his wife take road trips on their Ducatis, and he takes crazy dirt trips on his KLR. This one got documented--Jim is in the red and black jacket.

if we can find me a cheap dirtbike that is either already street legal or can be made street legal then i'd DEFINTELY be up for something like this!

when we went to moab, i had a blast on the jeep trails. having a street legal dirt bike is definitely the way to go!

How great would it be to be retired and just spend your time taking motorcycle trips? He does these dirt rides, and cross-country street trips on his Duc.

I'd love to get a trail bike and take a ride like this, but........show me a dirt bike and I'll show you a lowside. :cry:
