View Full Version : LEAKING GAS!!!!????

So i just walked outside my office for a quick smoke and noticed that my 06 GSXR1000 is leaking gas out of the drain tube. Wasnt leaking this morning when i left the house, or any other time for that matter. Any suggestions?

Cuz the temperature is rising...

Last time I decided to fill the tank at lunch (was about 95* out) then stopped to grab a bite it leaked something fierce

Yup, pressure builds up and out the overflow vent it goes.

If your tank is full and sitting in the sun the gas will frequently run out of the drain tube while its sitting there. Move it to the shade, cover the tank with a towel or burn off some gas at lunch. Should be fine.

Sounds like a great excuse for a long lunchtime ride.

stupid is as stupid does. It is sitting in the sun, i moved to the shade and it stopped. But..... im thinking that putting a couple hundred miles on it for lunch sounds like a better idea! Hmmmm.... I think it is time to put a "meeting" on my schedule in case anyone wonders where i am at! LOL!
