Well Tonight is the night I will be doing Plastic repairs on the VFR.
21 year old plastics are in need of reinforcing and major repairs.

I am totally dissatisfied with the "Maier" plastic replacement parts. TOTAL CRAP. Thin and weak.

I will post pics tomorrow.

My neighbors are gonna love the smell. LOL:)

step 1 get Naked (bike)

access how bad the cracking is.I got lucky and noticed the fairing flapping in the breese on Saturday, before it broke completely off.

clean it

Step 4
cut fibrglass mat to size.

mix resin and hardner (I should have used liquid resin and NOT Jelly)

this is starting to look familiar. I ended up using 2 part epoxy resin. Still holding together. Keep the pics and details coming.

step 6
spread layer of green gue and lay fiberglass mat it place, spread top layer over mat. I should have used LIQUID resin, It would have been easier and looked better. UGLY JOB.
Let it setup.
Hit with white paint and clean up residue.

Remount fairings.

This should last me untill I find an adequate fairing replacement or just street fighter the bike, or leave it alone and sell it. My mind changes daily.

not the prettiest job but it is damn stronger than it was.
