So, your a bit uneasy about practicing looking through a turn while your on your bike. Well, you're in the majority then. And that is OK. It takes quite a bit of practice to getting use to looking "through" a turn.

Here's what you can do. Take your car/truck out to an empty parking lot with lots of room away from poles. Now, this is easier and more fun to do with another person to keep an eye out for traffic, but you can do it alone, too.

Come to a stop. Roll down your windows so you can hear what is going on around you (turn off the radio). Turn your head 90 degrees to the left and look through the turn. Look at the horizon, not the ground. Your wide vision will pick up anything important. Turn the wheel almost all the way to the left and start driving at a slow pace in a circle.

Now, try turning your shoulders and hips into the turn just a bit and notice how this helps you look even further behind and into the turn. Slowly increase your speed, to a safe limit, as you drive around in circles. Do this until you don't find yourself looking in front of the car-- It is harder than you think.

Once you have become comfortable with the left turn. Do the same thing to the right.

You will right away notice the difference between how you use to look while turning and the new technique.

Once you have become comfortable doing this in a car you can do it much easier on a bike.

Thanks for taking a moment to read this and give it a try. Ride Safe.
