Need to borrow/rent one.
(Else I'll build one out of a super-ball, thread stock, and a couple washers. Not paying $144 bucks for one.)

Can you use one of those rubber freeze plugs for a big block and just thread it onto some steel rod?

Great idea.....you sure you're Polish Dana?

Would just depend on the sizes available.

Werd. If you can't find a freeze plug large enough you can cut a round piece out of an old tire and make the same tool :)

1. Take an old tire, cut a round piece of rubber out of it just slightly larger than the diameter of your cylinders.

2. cut 2 pieces of plywood or whatever just slightly smaller than the diameter of your cylinders.

3. sandwich the rubber in the middle of the wood so that the rubber is sticking out just a little all the way around.

4. drill a hole in the middle of this rubber hamburger and insert your threaded rod. Bolts on either side so it will not move.

5. stick that shit in the freazer until the rubber shrinks up a little

6. insert into cylinder and heat until rubber expands, gripping the sides of the cylinder.

7. Pull it out before you get it pregnant.

8. repeat for each cylinder

I am assuming the real tool uses a big rubber plug (close to the #4 in the drawing)

Am I correct?

Drawing fine...medication was in question....J/K Bro.

I like the sleeve concept on yours and the freeze plug from Dana's.
If I find a freeze plug just a little too small I could sleeve it out till it gets enough grip.
(Freeze plugs are only a couple bucks.)

It's like the three of us have one brain.........(wait for it.......).
