I found an engine...Thanks to gene Bazyl for coming to my rescue!
I do need a new front wheel though!

Well, it appears my mishap at SCR has caused a crank bearing to fail in my engine.

I took it to Marvin Rosencrans at RMKaw today and he listened to it for a few minutes and with a trained 20 year mechanics ear said it's a squished (or warped or bent) crank bearing.

Apparently this isn't a small problem and a new engine or up to $1,000 in labor costs are in my future. He said 10+ hrs of labor plus parts.

Has anyone ever done this themselves?
Replace crank bearings?
Apparently the whole engine including pistons have to be removed to get to those buggers.

Can I go at it with a set of tools myself.

Or, should I just pay the money and buy a new/used F3 engine?

Anyone have one laying around for any year F3?

If it were just the bearing, you could do it with a good set of tools. I think that squashed/bent bearings might cause other problems on the lower end of the engine. A used engine would be a good option, and keep the original around and rebuild it in case you ever have trouble with it again.
