I have a friend who's got one and he tells me it's the rave. He speeds all the time and hasn't gotten a single ticket. Although, he's told me a cop once pulled him over and threatened to have his bike impounded and put him in jail if he didn't tell him where the jammer was...he was smart enough to keep his mouth shut and said he didn't have one. The cop couldn't find it after looking at the bike. (hid in airbox)

So now I'm wondering what are the pros and cons of a radar/laser jammer. I don't want to know if you have one being that radar jammers are illegal and laser jammers are illegal in some states. I know a passive jammer is a joke. My friend has got some kind of bell jammer. Not saying I'm going to get one just wondering what kind is good?

You might significantly be increasing your risk of an interview on the side of the road with one of those. When the display of the radar/laser gun goes blank or a MIRT is triggered, your vehicle suddenly looks mighty interesting. Especially if it is the only one and happens more than once. Think about that.

Some guns have a special LED to display it is receiving such interference.

A friend drives up to Summit county to work daily and picked up one from car toys but I don't recall what brand. One of his drinking buddies is a local cop and they have played with it and his radar and he has not been able to pick him up on it. It was a pretty spendy unit $1,500 -1,700 bucks if I remember right. To keep it legal it comes with that disabled but it can be enabled easily enough he told me.

Ok, I thought about doing an Escort SR7 Plus, which is a remote mount radar dectector and laser jammer. This unit only jams laser. They can be found locally at Ultimate Electronics and Car Toys if you have approximately $1200 to blow, they sell for half that on Ebay. Unfortunately this bill was passed making it illegal to jam any type of speed monitoring equipment used by law enforcement whether it be radar or laser. Don't ask me why Ultimate Electronics and Car Toys can get away with selling them when this bill specifically states that, "No person shall use, possess, or sell a radar jamming device."
