What does the armature look like? You know the part the brushes ride on. Sometimes you can sand down the metal and cut down the insulater in between to get a better contact.

Ok I finally figured it out. It ended up being the battery. It is a new battery but the regulator rectifire went out so the bike has been running on the battery for 6 months and now finally the battery is dead. I've been haveing 12 volts because i keep it on a battery tender but as soon as a large power draw is on it, it drains the battery to 7-8 volts.

throw it away and buy a yamaha......I had an R1 and had to throw that away haha for a gsxr 1000 :hump:

It was an 03 limited edition R1, it looked good with the flames. But I got a lot of head wobbled with out a damper and the clutch was slipping :(. So I got a 04 G1K :)
