...Buffalo Bills grave? Its close, fun, and deserted except for the crazy bike riders.

I went up at dusk. It wasn't bad then. I went in off of 6th ave and went all the way to to the country club. And then back again. I like the turns they were great.

Lookout Mountain.

It's a fun ride, but in general there is lots of bicycle traffic on it. It's also close to golden and pretty well patroled by the local police.

I've stopped riding it very much as there is too much potential for bad things to happen. I'd hate to hit a bicyclist (even if they were descending in the wrong lane) and can't afford the tickets...

I'm generally against riding mountain twisties at dusk just to avoid traffic. That's when the critters (like deer) come out to party, and it's just all too easy to come around a blind turn right into one. The other alternative is go 20mph and sit on the brake lever, but then you may as well be in traffic.

I like night riding myself its not to hot or cold. I haven't seen deer up there but that doesn't mean there are not there. I did see and almost hit a deer as far in town as 2nd and Zang (couple streets over from Union). Those critters are scary as hell. Why do they stop like that? They want to get hit or something? Can't they wait for me in hunting season?

Technical road... nothing fast about it. I like it for at least once a year, usualy after a Golden Gate Canyon run.

You know I forgot I did see a deer on that road....

He was on the edge of the road....he sort of had the WTF look on him...I mean it was a shear drop to his left and a road to his right. I am sure he was like well now what am I going to do?

As long as they are not in the center of the road I am happy. They can watch me zip by.

that road always seemed dangerous to me

dirty, no runoff, no room for error

lots better roads out there just as close

but it's an opinion, ride what you like:)

What are you going to do when they are in the center of the road? You won't have much time to react, if any.

Hanna on this forum took out a deer with her SV650 a while ago on 285 at dusk. Another guy I know halved one with a GSXR on a highway at night. There are probably a lot more on here that just haven't spoken up.

It's your deal, I'm just saying ... it's a definite risk when riding in Colorado mountains at certain times of the day.

Its just not the foremost thing on my mind when I ride. That's all. I worry about them and watch the sides of the road for everything that might come out in front of me. Deer and a fucker with a laser radargun are some big ones. Stupid ass cagers that aren't watching and think they can get in front of me before I get there is another one. I just don't let it scare me out of riding when I get the time. I hit a deer once too. Coming back from horsepower hill. I was in my blazer though and it passed under the truck like a Mazda. Scared as hell. I wanted to keep it but a game warden that happened by said he was taking it. He said he was taking it to the vets but I bet he kept it for himself.
I hope I don't run into another one on my bike. I don't know how well I might fair if I can't dodge him and hit him like that video I seen a while back.

I am thankful that the weather is being nice. Can you believe its November?

Ride toward the center (right cage track) at dusk and dawn. It gives you a 50/50 chance to use the tarmac in avoidance maneuvers.

Indeed, one of the curves along the way to avoid running wide on...

How mysterious of you Gramps. I don't mean to be mysterious but I can't tell you about it or why. J/k.
Yeah hit me up sometime. I am always up for a little fun. I need the practice.
