I just ordered some LED turn indicators for my bike today and I want them flash at the proper rate. It is my understanding that I need to put a resistor inline to simulate the incandescent lamp's resistance and thus flash at the proper rate. Does anyone know what size of resistor I'll need?

Those drugs must kick ass Dougie, cause I've never seen you think this hard - EVER.

Sorry, I couldn't help it. Smooches. :santa: Someone help the guy out.

A big one. Not sure of the value, pretty low, but it has to be a power dissipating type. They get hot. look for a led flasher relay (http://www.customled.com/PRODUCTS/FLASHER_RELAY/flasher_relay.htm#elfr1)instead.

I put mine on without the relay because I kind of liked how they flashed fast. Attracts more attention to me so I dont get ran over haha! Which turns did you get?

I thought they would look a little better than the mini stalks I had originally purchased...

You'll need a 1 ohm, 15 watt resistor per signal, wired in parallel on the positive side. That oughta do the job.

thanks! that's all I needed to know! 8)

Just a quick addendum... The circuit doesn't care which side of the light it's on- resistors just add in series...
