Well I am a lawyer...and God knows the poor thing's gonna need one after this thread hehe.

We aren't all bad...

I think you guys (and girls) are all great, but I will point you to the "let the leg-humping begin" comment...which I didn't make, BTW.

Well most of the guys are for show, If shes got a 1098 S I'm brining my A game!

And thank you, JJ, for proving my point: he not only mentioned bringing his "A Game" for the newb but posted a picture of it in his signature so we all know what he means...

The only way JJ is allowed to bring his A game is if he rides in wearing that flight suit.............:bow:...that wuold be awsome

As far as us northie hooligans are concerned, I'm harmless......except to myself. Hey JJ want to see some more Yamaha drifting?

Damn I make one comment.... The A game I was referring to has nothing to do with the clothing line logo shown in my signature. I think it is a creative logo, thats all. But thank you for allowing me to prove your point. I just want to ride her ducati not her, hell I have not even met the girl!

Thanks for your assumptions of me being a prick, it means a lot to me.

Depends...if I can get a hook up on a rental I might. Be easier to fly out and rent one. Not sure if I can take a rental to a track or not. Leah's looking into rentals for me. *wink* (Or the possibility of me using the R1) surely I could handle it (after all the K7 spanked it at the MotoGP Horse Power shootout. hehe)

Hi Dan,
Both FZs are jetted with a mix of Dale Walker/Ivan kits. After market cans, mine is a Holeshot, Mike's is a Yosh. Mike had his suspension done by CA Suspension Works. Bee has 15/47 sprocket, but I took mine back to stock from 15/44 before we went to CA. Mine is lowered, different dog bones. Throttlemeister. Puig Windscreens. Bee has the Ivan boot mod.

The FJR has its share of "farkles."

I don't suppose you work in Lafayette? There is a bee in my office complex, and it drives me batty that I never run into the guy coming or going to say HI!

I gave a brief intro in another thread, but I guess this is the more appropriate one. I'm from Lafayette, Louisiana. I've been here for almost 5 months, but I've also spent some time in New Orleans, Houston and Tucson, AZ. I'm a mechanical engineer hear in Denver and I love to ride bikes. I don't just like to ride, I think I check out bikes more than chicks, my girl likes that part! I also dig mountain/road biking, working out, and shooting. I hope to get a kayak next year and learn to do some river kayaking, now that I am in one of the coolest places in the country. My 95 FZR600 is down, probably for the winter(engine swap), but I am buying an 06 Honda 1000RR in early spring.

That's about it, I pretty much just quit my job in Tucson and packed up to move out here, so I'm always down to hang out and meet new people. I don't know any riders in CO so let me know if you guys and gals have something going on.

How's the cop situation in denver? Do they target sportbikes as bad as here in florida? Im not sure if there was ever a posting on your forum about the new wheelie/50mph over law just passed here in florida... 1st offense wheelie or 50 over the speed limit is a 1500$ fine, 2nd offense is 2500 fine, 3rd offense is 5000$ fine 10 year license suspension and forfiture of your bike. pretty messed up huh!

Anyone rode the Pueblo track? How is it?

Welcome:

Pueblo Motosports Park is one of three tracks that will be available to riders in the area in 2009. The other two are PPIR (pikes peak Intl raceway) and High Plains raceway

Pueblo is a 2.2 mile road course with 10 turns. There are 7 rights and 3 lefts and I would describe the track as "point and shoot", meaning there is a corner, then a short straight before the next corner. It has about a 1/2 mile front straight where some bikes can see as much as 160MPH.

The surface is a bit old and it has some bumps, but overall it's a good place to ride and the staff has been very kind and accommodating to riders over the years.

Again, welcome!

Right! The "435 is MY racetrack" is kinda an inside joke. I assume you're familiar with it? (it circles the entire metro of K.C. really the only thing it's good for is cupping your tires) Anyways...I ride a lot in Northern Arkansas on the twisties. I've torn the hell outta some foothills in Idaho as well, those are fun as long as the sand isn't blowing around. I do street mostly. Maybe one of these days I can come out and see what you have.

So I'm sitting here bored at work wishing I was out riding so I thought I would join up and say hello. I'm looking for some chill girls and guys to get to know before the new season starts. I live in Denver but am in the Springs a lot too hanging with freinds and family. I just sold my YZF600R and am planning on upgrading in the spring but I will admit I'm still a newb. I'll throw this out there too since I saw that quite a few of you go snowboarding. I'm just starting to learn and would like to find some cool people to go with once I get better and have gotten some lessons in.

Hi, my name is Rick. Apehair for short.

I live in Larkspur and commute to Broomfield 2-3 times a week. Preferably on the bike, though I have to confess I sometimes ride in a Blue Prius with Sue. I feel better, now, coming clean about that.

I'm teaching the wife and daughter how to ride dirtbikes. They like it. I just bought a used trailer. I can now take them to meet the dragon man.

When warm weather arrives, I wanna go on some rides. I had planned to buy a new Ducati Monster S4R Tricolore because I really liked the colors, but it was too expensive. So I figured I'd buy an S2R 1000, but I couldn't afford that, either. Plan C was to buy a used Ducati SS800, but I ran out of money for that, too. So I'm going to ride my Harley. If I promise to park it on the other side of the street, will you still talk to me?

I really wanna meet Darren. He sounds really nice.

Sun Dec 7th, 2008, 11:02 PM
I go by Wheeefr, but my name is Paul, and live in Loveland. I've ridden dirt and enduro most of my life and also competed in trials, many, many years ago (late sixties, early seventies). I've had several street machines, but only recently decided to get more serious about it. I picked up a '94 VFR with 10,000 original in October. Paint was poor but mechanically it's as good as a 14 year old bike could be, so this winter I'm doing the paint. No stock restoration and you'll know me by the color. I'll post up on my blog as I progress. I look forward to seeing some of you out there. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep up :)

Hey everyone. Name is Sean, live in Fort Fun, ride a Suzuki TL1000R currently. Some of you might recall me from this year's Toy Run...I was riding with Swademaster and Joe. I've raced MRA and AMA in the past. I like sunsets, long walks on the beach, and fluffly puppies. LOL!

Here is pic from '99 when I was riding MRA....I'm on the inside, #247. Kinda ironic that I now ride a TL....LOL!

LOL! They are a bit crazy...had them custom made by BloodNickel when they were still around. Sweetest set of full leathers I've ever owned. They matched my green/black ZX7RR a bit better than my candy corn Gixxer 750.

Here's a pic of it, but is currently undergoing a face lift so it will look a bit different by next season. I haven't been out to meet anyone yet but I look forward to this up coming season.

Since we have had a steady stream of new members joining the club, this thread will serve as a place for any new members to let us know who they are instead of having a ton of "Hi I'm new here" posts in the general forum.

Are you new? Let us know a bit about yourself if you want, or just give a shout out to the club.
Hi Everyone,
I am new to the site and the snow today has prompted me to find like-minded folks with the club, since the roads are not clear enough to ride. I have been in the Springs for a couple of years and have recently made the transition from the dirt to the street. This move has resulted in quite a few lonely riding days, however, all rides end up being perfect rides.

While there are not many women on crotch rockets, you will find me on a Green Ninja 636 riding in most weather that is over 45 degrees. As I spend my days as a mild mannered Doc, the experience I have on my street bike seems to be resulting in the development of an alter ego who craves speed and excitement.

I am thrilled to be a part of the forum and am looking forward to meeting other riders.

Hello everyone!

New to Colorado, been riding motorcycles regularly since 1999. I’m a pretty tame rider for a sport bike rider. I like to stop and smell the roses and take lots of pictures when I ride. I specially enjoy the longer rides and multi-day cross-country type of rides best but I do the local day ride thing when I can’t ride somewhere far.

My longest ride so far is 6 weeks - my longest day in he saddle is 21 hours and 1,021 miles. Both of these were accomplished on my 954RR. Did I already say I really like the long rides?

I’ve been riding out to Colorado for years and finally decided to relocate here. I live in Fort Collins at the moment. I hope to meet some like-minded local riders.

Here is a picture of my 954RR in sport-touring mode, it's got 42,000 miles now. I also ride two other bikes a Ducati ST3 which is broken at the moment :banghead: and a small dual-sport Yamaha for off road fun.

Welcome VIVID1. Nice to meet a like-minded long-ass rider. There's lots of us Northern folks on here. We sometimes meet up for Thursday night coffee at a local coffee house. Look for posts on that in the "Social Events" section. Oh and then there are some guys meeting up tomorrow for a ride kinda close by. Get a hold of daemon and asp_125 to find out where to meet up if you are interested.

As for the longer rides? There will be some...I hope...this summer.:)

If you are refering to Full Throttle coffee shop, I was just there today on my bike, I live a stone's throw away from that coffee shop. Good to know about the bike meet up thing on Thursdays, now I know where to go.

As for riding, I did some of that today, I've already got plans to go snowshoeing tomorrow. There will be plenty of riding in a few months, I need to play in the snow a bit before it goes away

Awesome, thanks for reading. Speaking of ST3’s… I have to get my ST3 running again, I haven’t ridden it since last May.

Can you recommend a good local Ducati mechanics? Not sure what is wrong with it, it had a broken valve spring which got fixed but now it keeps stalling, won’t run for more then a minute or two.

Well, the guys at Boulder Motorsports in Boulder work exclusively on Italian bikes, mainly Ducs and Prillers. Not sure if there's one up there in Foco.

As Cathy mentioned some of us northies like riding long and hard... I mean, rack up the mileage. Watch the board in the spring/summer months for the longer rides.

I enjoy getting out as often and long as possible. I am searching for other riders in the area with the same need for the thrill of the next turn. I look forward to seeing you all again as soon as the weather let's us get out and put some more rubber to the ground.
Add me to your friends list here or look me up on myspace: LuckyDutchTattoo
Talk with you all real soon.

Hey man! What part of AZ did you ride in? I moved to Littleton from Tucson and did some riding between there and San Diego.

Hey all, looks like I might be looking for a new group on misfits to ride with. Work wants me to relocate to Superior/Broomfield area, I've been holding out for about a year; but I am considering it given the economy.

I'm in Orlando, FL right now; & truth be told I love the weather and closeness to the beach. It sucks that the good riding is in N. GA (I used to live in Atlanta prior to here), but it's only a day trip away.

It's going to be low 80s and I should be riding this evening :yay:
I won't consider moving until the snow is gone this spring :cold:

Any info on the Superior/Broomfield area would be appreciated! (I have visited several times, but nothing like getting info from the locals)

Yup, lotta riders and rides out of the area slightly north of you (Boulder/Loveland) too.
Great canyons to ride up there.

Keep an eye on the social thread and the North and North Central forums.

Just a quick hello from a new member.

I'm Shawn, ride a Red 1998 Honda VFR800 Interceptor (the faster red) and am moving to CO for a job transfer. We've wanted to move back to CO for years, so we jumped on this chance.

We'll be living in Parker (at least for now) and I'll be commuting to Westminster. I'll be there in a couple of weeks, unfortunately my bike will stay garaged in UT until I can move it.

I typically ride as much as I can during the winter, especially to work, as long as the roads aren't a skating rink. It's going to suck to know it's sitting in a garage in UT, until I can get it to Denver. :(

Hope you guys get together and ride more than the UT guys. As much and I enjoy riding alone, it would be nice to hang with some like-minded folks.

Anyone around here ride VFR's?

G

There is no 250cup like they have at willow springs. Even though the ninja 250r would be a fun little track bike, it will be very difficult to be competitive riding it as a Novice since everyone else will be on 600's. If you're planning on getting a dedicated track bike, i would suggest getting an older 600 or maybe an SV650.

Greetings All.
My name is JP and I am moving out to Colorado Springs in the next month or 2. I am primarily a track rider but may venture back out on the roads eventually? Coming from Florida the lack of good roads and dangerous drivers here have pretty much kept me off the road the past year :hump:
I will definitely be looking to hook up for track days in the area so hopefully I'm in the right place!
I am currently riding a 07' Triumph 675 ...(shameless picture plug)...

Looks like this is prolly going to happen :banghead:
Talked to the boss and he is excited about moving me to the CO office.

Somebody sell me on this, because I'm a little freaked out. People keep telling me the winters aren't bad there, but I'm not sold. What is the riding season like (seriously, no B.S.)? I would figure if it snows, they salt/sand and it is fugged up from September to April. I used to live in MN, and I swore off winters entirely.
I will sorely miss the beach, but if I can trade for good riding I'll call it a wash.

Hmmm...best way to do this is illustrate in pics...soooo...

IMI in October...

...and there's more. You kind of have to pick and choose the days between October and April, but there's still good days. The worst is maybe...maybe 8 weeks without riding...at least that was me 2 winters ago.

Hope that helps.:)

lol...I was only trying to answer Salt Life's question. He did ask about roads and riding between Sept and April. So, I answered in pic form.

Oh and welcome to everyone. I love that old commercial with that lady at the doors of some department store going "Open, open, open..." That's me with the anticipation of warmer weather.

The best roads are pretty seasonal. But it warms up enough that you can get roads year rounds here that are better than anything O-town ever thought about.

I grew up in Tally, spent a couple years in Orlando, 6 months in Jax and recently 3 years in Atlanta. This place is awesome! The winters really aren't at all. It hit 50 last weekend in COS.

You will miss the Orlando winter, but not the humidity. I went back for xmas and it was miserable. You will miss seafood. You might miss the college football. But I am glad we moved out here. Now just to spend less time traveling for work and more time at home.

I live in the Indialantic (east coast south of Cocoa beach and the Cape)
I love the outdoors, Hiking, mountain biking, all of it so I'm sure this is the place for me. I actually spend most of my vacations in Colorado snowboarding so I know what I'm in for. Can't wait.
My wife was stationed in the Springs for a few years and is looking forward to getting back also.

I am familiar with the area. When I was a wee lad, I spent 6 months in Titusville while my dad was working at the Windover Archeological site. This is way better than that! :)

But you moved from the best part of Texas. For me it was a 7 hour drive to Arkansas or a 7 hour drive to the Hill Country.
My boyfriend changes motorcycles more often than underwear. His bike is for sale back in Texas. He just loves my bike, he keeps telling me that I just need to find another bike that I like. It is never going to happen!

Hey, my name is Bruce and I'm living and going to school in Boulder right now.

I just picked up an 07 sv650s. I'm coming off a 2000 YZF600r that I sold just last week. I got the sv to hopefully improve my riding with something a bit more tame.

I think I joined up a while back but forgot until I got my new bike.
Hopefully I can find some riding buddies and maybe dip my feet into some trackdays!
