Hellooo CSC... It's great to finally join the local site.
I think I met some of you all at the June 8 HPR Chicane Day. What a game-changing day that was! After being able focus on my bike, the track and the other riders blowing by me, I was able to distill all the things I want to do to the bike and the order of those changes. Bought the K&N last Saturday....
Can't wait to get back to HPR.
Hope to be able to make a couple of runs/social events this summer and see you all with your helmets off.
Been ridin' here since '77. ('72 Yam XS2, still in the garage)

Howdy everyone. I'm Ken, and go by mccolo. I'm a bit different from the rest of you I would guess because I don't really ride a sport bike. I do have a Kawasaki Concours, which is more sport touring, but it does have the body work and the Ninja engine.

I have an ulterior reason for joining this forum, however. I'm a writer and I write about motorcycles and motorcycling. One of the things I do is write for Examiner.com, where I am their national Motorcycle Examiner (http://www.examiner.com/x-378-Motorcycle-Examiner). What I would like to do is make this forum my portal into the sport bike world. For instance, I did an article recently about Jon Kuo (http://www.examiner.com/x-378-Motorcycle-Examiner%7Ey2009m6d7-ABATE-sponsors-racer-in-outreach-to-sportbikers), a local racer who is also an ABATE rider trainer and who had been sponsored as a racer by ABATE. In the article, which I feel is unfortunately one-sided, the ABATE folks talk about the organization's inability to get much traction with the sport bike community. I'd really like to publish a follow-up article to this presenting the feelings and opinions of the sport bikers toward ABATE and their efforts.

I'd also like to be able to touch in here from time to time to ask you guys about other issues I'm planning to write about. So how does that sound to you all? Anyone care to be the first to respond to the Jon Kuo article?

And let Terry from Abate know that if she wants to give away some classes, I would be more then willing to take a hand out on Abate rider lessons! I am always open on ways to be a better rider!!

Hi, I am Chris. Just moved here from Santa Fe and just bought a blue 06 R6.

Recruited to Denver so I could deal craps in Black Hawk.

I have been riding motorcycles for five years now. My SV650 is in my garage in Las Vegas. Been to Deals Gap twice, 06 and 09 for the R1/R6 forum convention. I am excited to ride in the mountains again (grew up in Pennsylvania).

Hello. I joined this forum for some information hopefully. Me and my son live in east Texas and was thinking about making a trip up to ride some cool roads and see some great scenery and to briefly escape our 100+ degree heat. We were thinking about southern Colorado for two reasons. One its closer and two we were hoping for less traffic. Any advice would be appreciated. Of course Iam not asking for your secret roads just some good general advice and whatever you are willing to share.

Parsaver, just head west of Denver into the mountains, tons of good roads to hit.

Wassup and Aloha!

Just moved to the Springs last week. Been riding for years (mostly street/some track). Currently own a Honda Hawk GT and a NC35 (which I bought from a member here before moving to CO). I'm still settling in the area and unpacking boxes but I do plan on exploring some roads and getting a track day or two in before the end of the season.

Hey 2-wheel riders! New to CO a couple months ago from South Dakota (yeah, the state with those president head things.) Looking for quick rides to get to know the people and area a little better. I've done the longer rides in SD, but really enjoy just jumping on at the last minute and tooling around for an hour or two.

Let me know if you ever wanna get out. Buells/sport bikes & chicks preferred...small groups are ok, too. (my boyfriend would just feel more comfortable, knowing I'm being safe. Will give a shout on the girls only forum, too.)

Hi all, name is Dave. I've been riding dirt bikes on and off for the last 10 years, but just switched over to street a couple of months ago. I have an 08 GSXR 750 and like to take it out in the mountains or just cruise around town, so if you're down just hit me up. Always looking for more riders.

Hey all. I found your Facebook page and followed it here so I decided to take a look at things. Been riding for a bit more than 20 years and I suppose I also could post a intro into the FOG area if I really wanted to... My current bike is a 95 Kawasaki GPz 1100. I am not loyal to any type or brand of bike and usually live by the motto "It don't matter what you ride, just as long as you ride." the exception are zealous Harley riders... drive me f*****g nuts. Anyway... hope to see ya around.

Hello, new here...... Living in the Fort Collins area. Moved from San Francisco Bay Area 5 years ago. Been riding most of my adult life on various bike types. Last bike was a Katana 650. Others were Virago, Maxim, Ninja... you get the idea...

Currently, riding a Honda Shadow 1100 Spirit. Love it! Nice cruiser :-) Always looking for others to cruise with. I'm very lucky to have a very open & flexible schedule.

Hello All. My name is Brad. Some people know me from the eventful ride last weekend. I ride the red GSXR 600. I just moved here from Arizona and I work for Stevinson Automotive as their corporate IT Administrator. But I can get sweet deals on parts and cars too.

I started riding at 18 and started my own riding group in AZ called AZ Outlaws. I have been to the track a handful of times and I am probably gonna try and start racing next year when I have the cash.

Here are some pics of my riding career and for your enjoyment.

Hey, I'm Scott. I have no loyalty to any bike or manufacturer, I just love riding. I started when I was 18 on a 636, switched to an R1 a couple years ago, and I just sold that to get a gixxer 750 nine days ago (getting sprockets on right now)! I grew up in the metro area, moved to Sacramento in January for a 7 month co-op, and I'm coming back to Denver in 9 days and counting.

I'm hoping to use the forum to meet some new people to ride with because a lot of my friends gave up riding in the past year. I ride everywhere I go unless I need something that won't fit in my backpack, but I don't get as much joy riding or canyon carving in as I'd like to. I have about 45k miles under my belt, and have never been to a track. I'm hoping to meet some people to show me the ropes around the track when I get back to CO. My ultimate goal is to get into MRA once I graduate from college.

Oh yeah... I live in Golden, so just below some great canyon areas. Let me know if you're ever passing through toward the rockies and I'll probably join up. I'm also out by north Commerce City (AKA Reunion) a lot because my sister and her ninja reside at my dad's place. I see a ton of sport bikes on those long and lonesome roads.

Hey all! I'm Jon - the first vehicle I bought brand new is my 2003 SuperHawk. Picked it up last year with 4 miles on it! I dumped it with 250 miles on the clock just outside Morrison, learned my lesson, fixed it, but still hit the hills whenever I can. Over 8k on it now, and 1400 of it is twisty mountain miles. There are many times after work that I go put in a couple laps around Red Rocks, or make a lookout mountain road run at lunch.

I could star in those "messin' with Sasquatch" commercials and probably look pretty silly on a sportbike (I'm a big guy). I just love the in-your-face feeling when riding. I technically live in Morrison, so you can bet I'll be watching these boards for rides. I'm still a newb in the mountains and twisties, I haven't shed those chicken strips yet. I'll probably be looking for the more relaxed rides. I've ridden on and off over the years, this is actually my 3rd bike. Good to meet you all and be part of this!

Not too much north of Boulder, but I'm going to try to work on that at some point. You can always hook up with people up here, then head down to the events such as Hooters (http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=34464) or Boston's (http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=34064)

Hey everyone. Name is Brian and i am a divorced with no kids guy that is living in the Detroit area as of now. Moving to the Springs in mid October. I ride a 07 CBR 1000rr. I love it! I recently went to Deals Gap and destroyed the Dragon! I loved it !! Looking forward to doing a little canyon carving (as you natives would call it) with some of ya in the spring.
Now, on to the real deal.... I am looking for a roommate. I would love to maybe rent a room with someone that was also into riding if even half as much! I do not have a job lined up as of yet but thought it would be easier to find one when I got there. I pretty much lost everything last year and would love to make a fresh start. Michigan is dead. No work, fat chicks everywhere, potholes like you have never seen! I have an excellent work history and I would do just about any kind of work to get started out. I would be willing to pay 400 to 500 per month including utilities. I did get a severance and I do collect unemployment as well as have rental income of my own. I will be able to pay for a few months upfront to cover me until I can get some work.
I would prefer a basement area where I could have my space and not feel like I am too cooped up in a room. Obviously I would need space for the rocket.

So, maybe someone that sees this may know someone or you may even have some extra space until spring even....Let me know!

Hey everyone. New to to the club. Name is Jeff. Have been riding a 03 SV650S since early 04. Have enjoyed it tremendiously. After a slight dump, desided to go for the naked/ semi streetfighter look. Have had a great time with the slow conversion. The non cluttered feel of loosing the faring makes me feel like I am more with in tune with the road. Just need to upgrade the front end. Got about 17K on the bike and it still rides great. Building more confidence everyday is the way. Thanks for all the great info on the forums.

Hey all, I'm new to the forum, and relatively new to bikes (riding since 06). I started on an 01 Suzuki Volusia when I was 20, I'm 23 now. I've ridden (but not owned) everything from a TTR125 to a Suzuki Hayabusa and everything in between. I spent a year and a half in Phoenix, AZ getting my factory certs from Suzuki and Yamaha, and am always willing to learn and get advice from those more experienced than I am!

I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, but am now living in Gunnison, working at a local shop. I don't have a bike right now, but hopefully will fix that soon. Dream bike would be a modded (but not lowered/stretched) Hayabusa with risers and bags on it. (See how fast I can go Florida to California type of thing)

Anyway Cougarkat's post mentioned she's deaf, so I figured I'd mention I am fluent in Sign Language and fairly fluent in Spanish (Mexico/Costa Rican dialects mostly) as well.

I ride a 1KRR, I frequent Willow Springs and California Speedway. looking forward to getting out on some of the tracks here.

What's goin on..My name's Jeff and I'm just gettin started on here. Been riding since I was 18, like 8 years now, on my fourth street bike, an RC51, and LOVING the V-twin wheelie machine. Live in Westminster and try to ride Coal creek canyon to golden gate canyon and back to westminster like 2-3 times a week, if not to estes. Just looking for people to ride the twisties with, or head out an just cruise around Denver/Boulder area, more fun with more people!!

Otherwise I bartend in westminster by night and restore mopars by day.

Obviously don't know anyone on here, if you have any rides coming up would love an invitation, good lookin out.

'Sup, everybody.

I've been lurking on here for a little bit now, but finally had a chance to actually post here. And thus explains what follows.

Name's Matt. I've been riding since March of this year, so I'm most definitely a newb rider. Yet I started out on an '09 Buell XB12R Firebolt and, just in July, upgraded to an '09 Buell 1125R. I know, I know, way too much power for such a beginner. I just figured I'd learn to ride on what I want to continue riding rather than start on a small bike and gradually work my way up.

I've lived in Colorado Springs for a little over a year and have the unfortunate occupation of Network Administrator for the Army on Fort Carson. I'm a 21 year old native of nowhere thanks to my dad's former military career. Four more years and I'll then be able to pursue my dream: open a biker bar/internet cafe with my brother.

I haven't had much change to ride around lately because of training, but hopefully I'll be showing off my less-than-common Buell around the Springs in the near future.

another graffiti edition . . . Webman has one.

As far as good places to ride . . . those big hills to the west are generally nice. Left Hand Canyon west of Boulder is a nice short one. Keep an eye on the boards, we northies tend to do a few rides a week up to Estes, Peak to Peak highway or further.

Hi guys,
I moved to Denver a month ago from San Diego. Some friendly 600rr.net people told me about CSC.
What I ride: 08 Honda CBR600rr - orange tiger
Where I ride: I go to school in UCD Health Sciences in Aurora. So.. Colfax between Colorado and Peoria (It isn't great, but I look forward to it when I wake up)
How I ride: like a girl.. (I am one) Seriously though, I've been riding for 7 months now. First 3 on a ninja 250, I switched to cbr after 3500miles. I haven't done much canyon unfortunately.
So, I'm hoping to find someone patient and knowledgeable (or just willing to wait for slow me) to do twisties. I do just fine in turns if I go 10-15 mph over the posted speed which is pretty slow :( And I want to get smooth and fast...
Also, if you work at UCDHS, say hi.

Feel free to hit me up and we'll go... I like to go slower than most of the riders anyway, going to the mountains is not only for the curves but the view, sound, and feel also.

Hi Members:

Just now getting around to introducing myself. Started riding around 20 years ago and now own a MC aftermarket parts and accessories shop for over 3 years. Trying to expand business more into the local market. Starting out by doing internet MC part sales, 30% of which were international. You'll probably hear more from me just trying to be a little more active on this forum but just not enough hours in the day.

Oh yah and I'm a native.

New guy here. Hi, names Ed. I live in Loveland, So. Cal. before that. I've been riding about...hmm, 35 years I guess. Dual sports, Suzukis, Nortons, Hondas, Moto Guzzis, and Laverdas mostly. Mostly Laverdas, I got a thing about Laverdas. Did some racing a long time back (I can still describe the line through turn 6 at Riverside...) and a lot of fast riding on the Angeles Crest and other Southern California roads. Then of course, about 17 years ago my daughter was born and now I just enjoy cruising around. :) I don't put on the miles like I used to, but when I do get out a 350 mile day is my norm, so lets ride!

Hey all, I'm not new to riding with some of you, but am officially a new member here. I've been a memeber of CFRSR for years, and have combined many rides with CSC and CFRSR. Some of the rides I've been on with you all are the "Canyon Blast" and the "Steamboat Ride". In fact, some of you stopped at our house in Fort Collins at the end of the last Steamboat ride for a break before finishing your ride back to Denver. I was riding a grey & yellow BMW R1100S. I've since sold that bike and now am on a white 2006 Honda Interceptor.

Anyway, glad to finally be a part of the CSC club and look forward to riding with you all again.

I'm also looking at a new GSXR-600 next spring. Most of the miles I've put on my bike have been up in the mountains.
