Are you interested in riding?

Have you ever ridden?

Or are you simply seeding the forum with links to your website tom boost search engine results?

Last I checked, Louboutins were found on catwalks, not footpegs. But I'll admit I'd take a look if the fashion house of red-soled heels was migrating to biker boots. ;)

Hi all, names Jason. I live in the wonderful Englehood and enjoy long walks on the beach, listening to Kenny G. and grooming my pet chinchilla's.

Other than that, this is my 1st season on a bike (lots of years on MX bikes but it took me 7 years to finally pull the trigger on a street bike). I will fully own being a n00b and am hoping to learn as much as I can from you folks.

No plans of super street bike glory here. Just looking to learn as much as I can and to become a better rider. I lurked for quite a while and can see that there is quite a bit of knowledge here...hoping to pick up what I can.

Thanks,

JP

Hello people, I am a new member here with the forum. Ride a 2011 Kawasaki ZX6R, traded my Harley in for it. Been here since last summer. Looking to ride with some groups and check out the riding that Colorado has to offer. Getting used to riding a sport bike again. Before this one, I had a 2007 CBR600RR and an 08 GSXR 1000. Sold them because of my first child, but missed the sport bike so I went back. Well looking forward to meeting and riding with otheres here in the Colorado Springs area. Take it easy and stay safe.

Not a new member but have lurked the past 3 years quietly and just found this thread. I live in Colorado Springs (yuck) and just bought a BMW S1000RR.

This is my 8th or 9th sportbike. (getting old at 26, memory is getting fuzzy) I've been riding about 9 years and typically keep to myself and ride out to the mountains and back.

The winter is almost over and I've noticed a lot of riders have awoken from hibernation. :D

Hey Guys,

Just joined officially, but been stalking this site for 2 to 3 hours a day since i found it. EXACTLY what i was looking for!! to be totally honest, I would not consider myself a motorcyclist, or a motorcycle enthusiast, or whatever term one uses... but I soon hope to be one! I have 6 to 8 rides under my belt, most of them on a 2005 Kawi ninja 500cc, and a few on a 250 Honda Rebel. Moved to CO (Aurora) last august and have now decided i want nothing more than a motorcycle! So thank you for allowing me into the CSC, and I can't wait to start to get to know some of you, and hopefully VERY soon get to ride with some of you!

The only "bad" time to buy a bike is when you can't afford to get the proper gear along with it. There are more good deals in the winter months but you can find good buys year round and you should be shopping around alot no matter what season it is.
Oh... And... Welcome!

usarhino here!

Just registered for the forum & wanted to say "hey"

Brought my 750 GSXR out from FL and putting it back together. Flipped it stunt ridin' but almost complete on the rebuild.

Wanted to ask what the laws were like out here? Do I have to have insurance?

What about mirrors (do I need them?), license plate (are they pricks about where it is placed?)

Hope to meet you guys out for a ride soon!

You have to have at least one mirror to be considered street legal. I know a handful of folks who run no mirrors & don't tend to get pulled over for it. That & license plate placement tickets are usually extra revenue generating tickets that they pile on top of the ticket for the real reason they pulled you over. They are reason's to get pulled over so they can check your paperwork/check for dui/etc.

Make sure you transfer your motorcycle endorsement over when you get your CO driver's license. Otherwise you've gotta redo the test. they can also ticket you for operating a motorcycle without an endorsement.

So here is the skinny about the laws from what I know:
-You must have insurance or the bike will be towed and your license taken
-Technically you need mirrors, but I haven't seen anyone get ticketed for it.
-Your license plate must be visible and not obstructed

I have only been pulled over for strictly that on my 2000 R1 where they were more interested in my endorsement or my BAC. After they were cleared, then they brought up the plate....but not even warning. Just a finger wagging...

So if your plate is obstructed, consider it a reason to pull you over to check other "stuff". Not worth it, IMO.

Same thing happened to me when I first got the R1. Didn't have a mounting place for it yet, so I had it zip tied to the passenger pegs.

That's BS man. Eluding is something totally different.

18-9-116.5. Vehicular eluding. (1) Any person who, while operating a motor vehicle, knowingly eludes or attempts to elude a peace officer also operating a motor vehicle, and who knows or reasonably should know that he or she is being pursued by said peace officer, and who operates his or her vehicle in a reckless manner, commits vehicular eluding.

(2) (a) Vehicular eluding is a class 5 felony; except that vehicular eluding that results in bodily injury to another person is a class 4 felony and vehicular eluding that results in death to another person is a class 3 felony.

Thanks again!

You don't need to use Water Wetter. Water Wetter is an additive that you can add to distilled water that helps your bike run cooler.

With that said, you don't need to use a glycol-based coolant if your garage is heated or will never drop below freezing. If you're storing it outside or your garage drops below freezing, drain the water and fill with antifreeze.

That clears it up!

After posting, I realized I may have mistyped what I meant to say when I said you don't have to use water wetter, so let me clarify. On the track, you can't have any glycol-based fluid, so you need water or water with Water Wetter. On the roads, you can use whatever you want. Everything else I typed applies.

I thought I would reintroduce myself since I just finally bought a bike. Ive been on this forum before reading random things here and there. I plan on taking some sort of 2-3 day bike lesson course so I can get my M license, but I am pretty anxious to go to my first bike meet.

The new (to me) bike:
2004 Kawaskai Ninja ZX6-RR with 11,xxx miles. It has been laid down. Ive been replacing some here and there bits and just got a new right side fairing and painted it with OEM kawa green.
According to a recent inspection done by Faster it has a variety of things for maintenance that needs to be addressed (new tires, front fork seals leaking, adjustments and etc.).

Here's a pic.

Hey guys, I'm new here. Had this bike for about 2 years. I live in Pueblo, although I can't wait to meet up for a ride. I don't really like riding in the city anymore so I'm putting that practice to an end.

It's a 2003 SV1000S with about 8700 miles, started off as copper colored. The stock cpper looked decent enough, but it was really really shallow looking. My roommate's dog decided my fairings tasted good, so I got the opportunity to repaint it. I custom mixed my own color, and painted it myself. It's got 4 stages color, 8 stages clear for a 12 coat paint job. In between the 8 coats of clear is pure gold leaf that I did by hand.

The bike's got a stiffer rear spring, heavier fork oil, stainless brake lines, K&N filter, a free intake mod, a reversed short shifter (1 up 5 down), undertail, windscreen, LED turn signals, and maybe a couple of other things I'm forgetting.

Throwing out a quick hello to introduce myself. I recently acquired a 2009 ZX-6R, gently used for a great price. I have about 30k miles on other bikes, ramping up slowly on my first real supersport. Joined mostly to get info on the local happenings and road conditions. After reading threads for a few weeks, seems like a great community here. I may show up for the next newbie ride, schedule permitting.

Welcome. Make the trip up the Poudre for food at The River Rock Cafe (I think it's called), then go 125 thru Rand to Granby, and if Trailridge (12,200ft pass) in the Rocky Mtn Nat'l park is open (not yet), go thru Grand Lake and over the pass, down 34 from Estes to the turnoff to Stove Prarie road (Be careful! Very tight and technical and sometimes dirty) back home. Enjoy!

Yeah it has been repainted, The bike looks clean but some of the fairings are crap the front headlight fairing is missing some places to bolt on too and the rear has a chip in it. but the chrome is good. I just need to get a new set of fairings I’m thinking of going with a gunmetal color for the fairings when I do get a new set.

I think I heard it fell off a trailer after the guy bought it from GECCO, if its in fact the same bike...which would explain the shitted up fairings and repaint

Im pretty sure it didnt fall off anything I have taken the whole bike apart pretty much and the only thing that is wrong is the front headlight plastic and a chip in the rear. it came with a clear title im not sure if that means anything but oh well its a solid bike just needs some beautification

Hey all, just relocated back to Denver via Chicago/NYC/Milwaukee. Sold my '94 CBR900RR before I moved to the midwest, no real places to ride there so figured I would buy a new bike once I got there, alas I had to wait until I got back to Denver =)

Just bought a '10 Aprilia RSV4, can't wait to get back in the canyons once again. I've been riding for over 30 years dirt, track, street.

Looking forward to some of the rides!

So far so good... Unfortunately I picked it up last weekend and haven't really had a chance to ride yet, I think I'm at about 65 miles on it. It's definitely a big change from the '94 though that's for sure. The '11 has all the 'cool' stuff on it though, bought the '10 because I didn't think I really wanted or needed all the new stuff.

Hello there, I'm new. Obvoiusly, or else I wouldn't be posting an intro. :D

I'm not new to riding, however - I earned my M rating in 2000. At that time, I was riding a Honda Shadow, but with it being around 600cc's and me being around 5'10"ish, it was a bit small for my build and a bit underpowered for my tastes. And honestly, not entirely my style. So, I sold it to get through school in 2005, and went bike-less until earlier this year when I bought my Honda 919. A bigger bike, better power, a more comfy ride, and definitely more my style.

Anyhow, I put thousands of miles on my Shadow and intend to do the same on my 919, and I'm looking forward to riding some of those miles with decent people, so, I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys. Here's to hitting the road whenever possible on two wheels.

:squid: And for no other reason other than I like it, I'm posting the squid icon.

Hey hows it going. Im Bryan and I have been riding my GSXR 600 for about three years. I am a Colorado native even though I have spent a great deal of my childhood in California. I love it here in Colorado though. I hope that I never have to move away again.
I am in the Army Reserves with the 994th En Co out of Denver. Ive been in for about 9 years now. I have been through two tours in the middle east with the second one just recently completed. I returned from Afghanistan this past March and it is great to be home riding again.
I am studing at Metro State under the Athletic Training progam. I start back up this August. I am really looking forward to getting back to school and moving forward with my life again. Until then I am just enjoying another great Colorado summer.
I am excited to be a part of this club and look forward to meeting some of you. Riding my Gixxer is a big something that I just am addicted to and I could use a few more people to share that with. I hope I can learn a few things about sportbike riding too because we are all always learning and growing.
Thanks for reading this. Ride safe all.
