Alternator?

So I have this problem with my F2. I just put a battery in it about 2 weeks ago and the other day I was sitting in traffice at a stop and the bike just died. The lights stayed on but when I hit the start button nothing happened. I ended up pushing it, and even push-started it. It ran for a little while and then died again. I'm thinking alternator or something else in the charging system (bad wire or something).

Any other ideas?
