anyone have a honda and want to trade?

I'm about ready to trade the 10r in for a honda or something... just toasted the tranny comming out of really easy corner a few hours ago, sfted into 2nd gear, slipped out and reved up about 4-6k rpm then slammed back into gear again and destroyed something... now the bike will hardly even roll let along run, hopefully i killed the motor soon enough that no parts got into the pistons/crankshaft/bearings that i just spent 3 months replacing and have less then 2,000 miles on them.

Odd......I've never really heard of people having too many problems with the tranny's if proper care is taken. :dunno:

Was it the stock clutch? Plates? Etc.? Might be time for a Yoyodyne?(SP) or Barnett clutch.

There's a couple things you can look at first. Change the oil and see if there's any metal in it. If there is your going to be splitting the case cause your tranny is probably done. However if the oil looks good you might have just lost a C-clip on the shift shaft and it moved either left or right and jammed up your tranny. You can check this without having to split the cases.

Actually the Kawi trannys are very soft. Most of the kawi's raced have a 50/50 chance of trashing the shift rods. I have been lucky so far that mine falls into the good category, but at some point I am playing with fire.

Generally a shop can fix the issue but it will cost a few hundred dollars. If you do decide to repair it (which I would cause a dealer won't give you shit for it if you traded it in like that) I would suggest looking at a Factory Pro shift kit...this normally helps with the crap tranny

nah, I'll keep my 04 kawi that's putting out the same HP as the 08 1000rr. Sure enough though, the 3rd and 4th imput gears and the 4th output gear and both syncros are trashed. 100 dollars per gear too from kawi so looking around 6 or 700 bucks.
Any kawi guys know exactally what they changed in the trans from 04 to 05?
