there is little gas coming out of the exhaust... I have a 03 ZX6r and a PCIII installed on it. LMK people... I've noticed at nights flames will come out when I slow down to around 3-4k rpms

I would assume that to be indicative of running rich - which is safer than running lean.

Let's see... gasoline + hot exhaust fumes. I'd say yes, that's a bad thing.

And gasoline coming out the exhaust means that all the gas isn't getting burned in the cylinder, which means it's running rich...

Super rich by the sound of it, you might want to get that baby tuned.

Since you already have the powercommander it's pretty easy.

Get in touch with Clarkie at Epic Motorsports in Longmont or Bart down at Faster Motorsports in Denver. They will hook you up.

I think faster charges $250 to do a custom map for a PCIII. Well worth it.

do you have an aftermarket exhaust? what about a high flow air filter (k&n, afe, ect.)? a lot of times you will run a bit rich and if you have an aftermarket exhaust it will be more prone to reignition when it reaches more oxygen. it is not abything to worry about, but it does mean you are not getting quite your full potential out of you bike. if you dont have a high flow air filter i would start by getting one, sometimes just the little bit of extra air flow will cure the problem by getting enough air in the cylinder to burn all the fuel. if thats not the deal than just a little tuning will do the trick. but all in all its actually nothing to worry yourself over. kinda looks cool at night too!

nothing really to worry about, yes you are running rich. before removing pair valve system my RC would launch 3ft flames during decceleration. kids get a big kick out of it.
get a good map built, this will remedy most of this issue.
