So, I was reading an article on a crashed Aston Martin (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/04/24/wbond124.xml)on the new James Bond movie set and it talked about the famously twisty road around Lake Garda in Northern Italy, and I was like, "A crashed Aston Martin!!!"...oh and yeah, so what about that twisty road?...um...

So I just couldn't get that pic to resize worth a hill o'beans. Sorry bout the extra largeness of it. Here's another pic of a different road around that lake. Anyone got a fear of heights?...

And I guess the stunt driver of that Aston Martin is in serious/stable condition (depends on which article you read).

Are there any roads like that here, besides "The Dragon"? Like maybe West/Northwest of CO?

What's totally sweet about that road is the visibility through all the corners! No "Oh shit I hope there's not an elk in the road around the bend!" moments.

I think someone needs to buy some 1000 acres in a valley nearby and build that road just for bikes. Hell, I'd pay admission.

That first one doesn't look as much fun, tight turns linked by straights. The second one... schwiinnng!

7550 This is Batopilas in mexico
from Navojoa to Alamos to Copper Canyon, Chihuahua. It takes about 14
hours to get to the top on a Dual Sport

That second one looks fun as hell. My question though, are all those turn necessary. Or maybe the Europeans know something we don't about driving...ITS SUPPOSE TO BE FUN!

That picture enlarged is of famed Stelvio Pass. When one starts to ascend it there is a sign with the number #47 at the first hairpin, and it counts down from there at every hairpin from there. I hit it late in the afternoon after a long day of riding all the passes in the Dolomites.

If looking for a knee dragging ascent, save the bandwidth. It isn't how one rides the Alps.

From the top...

BTW Pilot, I know where that road you speak of is. There are reasons a Hypermotard is in the mountain barn here. :)

We do have roads in the region resembling portions of the Alps passes and famed roads like Deals Gap.

So, I did a search and named the search "Lake Garda road" and this is what was given to me...must be somewhere wayyyyyy down at the bottom...between peaks and valleys as sfarson's pic shows. Meh...
