So.. whats an average expected battery life for a bike?

Mine seems to be having some issues keeping a charge..

It could be more than just a battery going to shit..

Let the Yamaha flames begin! :321: :321:

depends on the battery. mine is 5 years old and fires up the bike even on the coldest of colo springs days. though i'll probably replace it come spring. i'm sure it'd do even better if i put in a new one.

Monkey.....

Life has a lot to do with how it's cared for. If you are having problems with it keeping a charge check and make sure that there is enough water in it to cover all of the cells. This is ususally the cause.

If it's run this way for a long time you might have killed it. Keeping them from freezing helps some, protecting them from impact helps some....anywhere between 3-5 years would be about right considering normal circumstances. If you get longer then you're doing really well, shorter ususally indicates something else is wrong like a voltage regulator or low fluid.

I used Battery Tender on my battery, when it is standing still..I heard that it extends the life of the battery atleast by 2 years...
