Highway 74 from Morrison to Evergreen was full of cars as any normal Saturday. The turnoff was about a mile past the intersection in Morrison.

The road had allot of good sweeping corners and no sand. Just don’t get behind anyone because there is no room to pass due to the blind corners all the way up. It is a residential area so we passed several driveways.

We almost miss the Brook Mountain Inn which of course is around a blind corner. It was reported to have a good brunch so we stopped to eat.

The first thing we discovered is that the owner hates bicyclists. Something to do with little ol ladies and walkers, to which we got a demonstration. He let us in on his plans to install speed bumps and have beer specials out on the patio so others can watch the bikers crash when they came flying around the corner. BTW the food was average.

After lunch we continued past the inn on Brook Mountain Road. This road is more open with places to pass and not in a residential area. There were some steep climbs with some good high speed corners. Only a couple places where hikers park cars once you get into the national forest. Once you crest the ridge its fast sweepers all the way down to highway 73.

Going back up 73 we had allot of traffic so wasn’t able to get around cars in front of us. But once we got on to North Turkey Creek we were able to step up the pace. Although this road is more residential and patrolled by Jeffco Sheriff there wasn’t much traffic and there were tight corners all the way to 285.

We continued around past Tiny Town and took the Indian Hill turn off. Pamalee Gulch Road is all residential and many turn offs and driveways. We had to keep our speed down through there. Once on top of the ridge, Myers Gulch Road was fast and open all the way to Kittredge.

So in conclusion we can recommend Myers Gulch Road from the ridge to Kittredge and the Brook Mountain Road past the Inn to Highway. Just watch out for cyclists hurtling over hidden speed bumps during happy hour.
