My secondary throttle valve actuator is shot. Does anyone know of an aftermarket brand that might be more reliable than OEM? It seems that the plastic gears stripped after 11,000 miles. Am I just lucky or should I expect this to happen this frequently?
Of course, I am hesitant to go to the bone yard lest I have the same problem. But the dealer wants to charge me $900 for the part and the guy says, "yeah, with that kind of mileage you can expect that." I thought the thing was barely broken in, now there are major parts failing.
Sorry for the rant.

First, that part is a know problem for your bike.

Second, there are no other choices other than
the factory parts to replace it.

Third, there is some guy on the Gixxer forum
that fixes the problem somehow, someway.

Forth, that part helps control the emissions
for your bike, IE the fuel/air mix and should
be under a federal warrenty for 7 years I belive.

hope any or part of this might help you.

Figure out the part # and check the price from someplace online like Ron Ayers Motorsports. I have usually bought parts for about a third less as compared to local dealers' prices by going that route.
