Thanks! The story behind the paint job is The Best Man, pictured here in this series, swapped bikes with me back in 2002 --- when the bike was only 2,500 miles new.

We were riding Ride The Divide (every paved mountain pass crossing of the Continental Davide between Steamboat Springs and Pagosa Springs here in Colorado).

The Best Man allowed me to ride his totally tricked out BMW R1100S. Too cool. Anyway we were blasting down Monarch Pass (US 50) and came across a downed rider from our group. The Best Man docked my bike facing down hill ------ but forgot to place the tranny in gear.

Bummer ------ it slipped off the side stand and nurfed the left side.


Long story short ---- go to Pete Fitzsimmons and asked what it would cost to make it new ---- and also asked for a quote for a 'custom' job.


The result is what you see and Pete is THE MAN that made it happen.
