Hey Guys -

Its about time for the 6k maintenance on my 748, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with shops and having that performed.

I have heard great things about Boulder Motorsports, but $650.00 ($480ish for just the valves to be check and seals replaced) in labor alone seems a little steep.

Any recommendations on who to take it to? Anyone moonlighting mechanics around? I can do some of the things myself, but prefer not to dive into the valves quite yet.

Thanks,

Matt

MrMorb, is your 748 Yellow?

If so, can I have it?
Can I buy it?
Can I be in your will?
Can I have your address and the times you are not at home but the bike is?
Are you allergic to peanuts or bee stings?

so, I own a couple of these beasts and have had done work on them in a variety of places over the years. I will highly recommend Boulder Motorsports. They may not be the cheapest, but the work is very high quality. Call and talk to JP or Brian.

Yep, it's Yellow....and I may put you in my Will...as the wife is gonna kill me if I spend $600 + on maintenance!

Thanks for all the tips guys! Supertune is definitely the closest. I will call around in a bit and see what the damage is at the different shops.

BMS did the starter on my Duc. They could have simply ordered one from Italy and charged me $500 for parts alone, but they were nice enough to sell me the takeoff from their 999 race bike at a substantial discount.

Thanks again for all the input guys, I appreciate it. I ended up scheduling with Supertune. There are just down the street from me, and I had great chat with Mike over there, and he did a fantastic job at selling his services.
