Right now I'm doing the 8,000 mile service on my bike, and I noticed the coolant needs to be topped off. I can't think of a reason that regular auto coolant/anti-freeze would not work, but please let me know otherwise.

So far as I know, antifreeze is antifreeze (other than specialty racing coolants which require a closed cooling system... in autos at least...).

Don't mix coolant types. If you've never touched it, then just buy the Honda premixed stuff (comes in a square black bottle) and use that. If you're coming to the wrenching party you can even just use some of mine if you want, I have extra from working on the superhawk.

I don't remember the exact arguments, but I've heard that automotive coolants can be harmful to motorcycle waterpumps, so I'd take Ralph's advice. :)

Cool, thanks for the info guys. Ralph, I'll let you know when the workday gets closer if I need any or not. Not really a big deal.. I just need to top it off.
