vtr1000 jetting??!!!!

So I am installing a stage 1 jet kit on my 2003 superhawk and I am runnig into problems... I hit around 3k rpms and then the bike seems to just stall and then kinda kick back in. I am wondering if anyone out there knows which main jets I should have in there ( running a 180-185 now) and what position the clip should be in from the bottom?? I am runnig jardine pipes and a bmc airfilter. If anyone can help me (and it actually gets it fixed)there just may be some beer in it for you:drink:

I don't have experience with the Superhawk, but if your problem is at 3k, don't worry about the main jets at this point. Rather, work with the needles. I'd say you should try to richen the midrange slightly, but without test equipment, this will be trial and error. Raise the needles one position at a time (lower the clip) and see how it changes. If it gets worse, go the other way. You may also want to check your float levels to eliminate that as a possible culprit.
