Gotta love having Mondays off....

Planning a little ride for Monday, if anyone wants to come along, lemme know!

Route is (tentatively) :

Start in Thornton/Combat City area
I25 to CO14 in Ft. Collins
CO14 to CO125
CO125 to 40
40 to I70
I70 home maybe
Alternate ending is I70 to CO103
CO103 to Evergreen
Evergreen parkway down to the MoCo and home on 6th Ave.

Ending route depends on how bad my arse hurts when I get to Idaho Springs.

Alternate route might include taking 34 over trail ridge instead of 40, and then the peak to peak back to Golden. That gets close my absolute max mileage on Elvira though... I just can't take more than about 400 a day on that bike, and that route is 375.

Anyone up for a ride?

I rode this last weekend it is epic. There is a short cut to 125 at gould it takes you to rand which is where 125 gets twistie. I'm riding monday and will strongly consider this ride. you might get off I-25 at 34 and take it to rd. 27 (stove prarie) this hooks up to 14 and is the most curvy of all the ride your proposing.

Yeah- 56/27 looks like a winner- I'll go that way (thanks for the tip!)

I am soooo looking forward to this one... I haven't gotten do do much non-commute riding the last couple weeks, and this should scratch my itch but good :: chuckle ::

Always fun to ride with someone on a longish ride like this one- I am not very fast, but I do have fun :: grin ::

Okay- Here's a link to the current map. Anyone care to clue me in as to how one embeds a google map?

Ooookay- Time to start thinking about the meetup....

I'm in Combat City near 88th and I-76.

Depending on where everyone is coming from, we could meet at:

1. Denny's in Northglenn
2. That little truckstop off I-25 at 52 by the Hardley shop.
3. Loveland, at whatever gas station is closest to 56/27
4. Somewhere else (suggestions?)

How does stands up at 0830 sound to everyone?

I-25 and HWY 52 would work best for me. I live about 20mins due east of there.

Sounds like a winner to me- See you there in the morning (I'll be there between 0730 and 0800)

Better than me too- Elvira does NOT like gravel roads, so I slowed down a bit when I saw the sign, looked at the road and kept right on going.

Was a hell of a fun little jaunt. We skipped Trail Ridge, cause it was raining up there. Wound up going 335 miles, and had an absolute blast (least I did)

Not sure if I am going to have time for an all day ride this Monday, but if not, then I am going to MAKE time the Monday after. Probably close to the same route, and I may throw in Trail Ridge, weather permitting.
