View Full Version : Gear Question: Boots

So I am slowly but surely gathering unto me various needed gear, and have most of it figured out.

Boots seem to be an issue.

So I need some advice here, if possible. I am really trying to avoid having to get custom boots that cost more than the suit I am aimed at.

See, I have these kinda square feet. The last comfortable, properly fitting boots I owned (thoughtfully provided by Uncle Sam once upon a time) were US size 7.5EEEE. Same size as my running shoes, as it happens.

It's durn near impossible to even find street boots in that size, much less riding boots. I tried on everything Performance had in stock, and found a couple that came close- the only problem was that wearing them for more than about 30 seconds produced the *exact* same feeling as putting my foot in a vice and tightening it vigorously. No Bueno.

So- any suggestions? Any leads on a company that will make a track boot to my measurements for less than $500? Anyone with a "D" width foot wanna trade feet?

Yo, block feet ...:)

My dad has weird width feet too. He's had luck with Red Wing. I don't know if they make a track boot, but it might be worth a try.

11.5 D and loving it.

I dunno about the width, but I've still got a pair of teknic's that are 7.5's. my feet just don't fit into 'em. They're pretty much brand new, worn once on the way home.

The Sidi's fit my Fred Flintstone lookin' feet well. A-stars felt too narrow.

I found Sidi's in EE width (Sidi Vertigo Mega)- but not in town. I may wind up having to order some and hope they fit :: chuckle ::

MetaLord- I would probably be interested in trying those one- We should meet up some time.

Brian- are you guys open on Mondays? I need to stop by there and check out your boot selection, among other things... Although after checking the price list on the Datona's I don't think they'll be on the list short of a lucky lottery ticket :: chuckle ::
