Hi,

I have a rear brake cylinder that is making no pressure. I am thinking of rebuilding it. Can anyone help me out by telling me what are the parts i need to do this.

Thanks,
The Ductor

Ductor,

If this is on your ducati superbike it's a super common problem. This issue is that the brake line forms an arch that is both higher than the brake master cylinder and the caliper. Air gets trapped in here all the time. Go to Harbor Freight and get yourself a mityvac brake bleeding tool, it will fix your rear brake very easily. I have to do mine 2-3X a year. No one can tell me where the air is coming from, not even the dealers I've asked about the problem. I do know that it's common to the 916 generation of superbikes

Harbor Freight is probably the cheapest, but you can also get them at PepBoys for about 10 bucks more. So it all depends on how close you are to Harbor Freight.

NAPA carries one also. I've had mine for about 5 years and it worked great until I drove over it with my truck.

Yep...that's the one. Due to the routing of the rear brake line on the 916 there isn't any way to generate pressure with the master cylinder once it's lost......

There is a harbor freight store here in Aurora, just off of 225 on Alameda
