Best of luck and speed to you all though, in case I can't tell you in person.

Jim, I see your career as a marketeer and journalist--hey, we can't race forever. This is a good thing. You're doing a great job promoting the sport, both on and off the court. As Will Smith said in Hancock, "Good Job!"

Good day overall. Weather was nice and a slight breeze kept it cool in the pits. A few get offs and only one red flag....which I still don't know who it was, but possibly someone on here?
The red flag cost me a 3rd place finish, but hey there is always another race. I hope the fallen rider is okay and recovers. When I came through turn 9 he was lying in the middle of the track with bike as well.
Unfortunetly I had to come home tonight and miss out tomorrow due to other obligations..but good luck to everyone on Sunday.

They really need corner worker help...so if you aren't doing anything for the next 2 rounds come out and help on the corners. I did corners for a full 1.5 years before racing, and seriously.....IT HELPS A TON! You learn s much being track side and watching each rider. You also get to talk and learn more than you can imagine. Hope to see some of you in the future.

I heard Chris went down on Sheila's spare bike??? He got knocked out and then woke to start running around yelling he was on fire. Tore off all his clothes down to his underwear and left on the helmet. Wait, that was Ricky Bobby.

Aha... yeah, that would have been me. I don't remember the crash at all, but according to those who saw it, I came out of 9, knee still on the ground when I gave it some throttle, stepped out the rear, and then highsided. I spent a few hours in the hospital; huge bruise on my right shoulder and a nice burn on my lower back near my left hip. The gear did it's job.

Well I wondered if that was you. I came out of 8 thinking only 2 more turns...saw the red flag but didn't know it was right on the exit of 9...some hard braking to avoid you, the bike, and about 10 people running onto the track.
Glad you are are relatively alright and up and around. Let me know if you need anything.

Glad everyone who crashed is alright! There were a few throughout the weekend (and one guy 3 times I think, though from what I hear that's pretty normal for him) but no serious injuries. Sheila's bike didn't look too bad either, mostly minor stuff.

I had a killer weekend. Set a new personal best time twice on Saturday and took 10th in MW End. Not sure where I ended up in AmGTU today, forgot to look before we left. That race started pretty spooky though with someone going front-wheel-locked into turn 1 with smoke billowing out after he clipped his brake lever on Ara. I had a great start in that one too, but backed off a bit while I watched the drama unfold. All in all though, I feel great about the improvements I've made this past weekend, and despite some fun dual-sporting in turn 7, kept it on two wheels to ride again.

Great job everyone who came out! It was awesome to be back at it, and there was some fun racing going on all weekend long.

The assessment has grown into the swingarm and the subframe being bent. I have an entire shopping list of parts that that bike is going to need. Le sigh.

They only had a yellow flag out when Ara and I came through 9 so we had to do the same thing to avoid Chris and the bike. All I could think about was damn my bike j/k. I hard a hard time getting around the rest of the track so I could get back to see how Chris was doing.

Put a little Honda polish on it, you'll be fine.
Haaa, he tried that on the bike when we got back but it didn't seem to work very well.

Remember it's racing, things happen. Just don't scare me like that again....or next time I will tell the nurse to bring a bunch of needles you big baby. Stephen say's he's spent enough time at the Pueblo hospital and doesn't want to go again so you and I better keep it on 2 wheels. Just glad your ok, I'm not so worried about the bike, it can be fixed.

What year is that R6? (Looks like a 99-02)
If it's needed for the next race we can always scavange parts off my '00 till you can get all the replacement pieces.
(But no crashing though you wacky kids.)

All in all a good weekend.

In supertwins GTU I was surprised when Shannon Moham decided to pack up Saturday night and head for Miller for the round there, leaving me with the pole position in that class. All I had to to was go out and ride my ride and the top spot was a real possibility.

The remaining may be a little prosaic, but I like to write so you're stuck with it.

Sitting on the grid, visors down, revs up, clutch to the friction point. Right foot on the peg. Red light comes on and the clutch grabs, just a little causing the bike to lurch. I pull the cluch in, and wait for the light to go out. It does and I launch, and the whole time thinking "shit....I just jumped the start" "ok, keep your head down, hit your marks, ride your ride!" I set a blistering first lap and come around turn ten to see the dredded meatball flag and my number "shit...I have to do a penalty. OK I have three laps to do it, do I serve the penalty early, or go as hard as possible for three laps and then go in" I decided to serve it early, let ray-ray have the lead and see if I could catch up. End of lap two, hit the hot pit lane, come to a complete stop and go again. Exit the lane in 3rd position, and get my head down. Start reeling him in, "hit all your marks...keep going!" White flag, "shit....he's out of range, but keep your head down, maybe he'll make a mistake"

It wasn't to be. First and foremost congratulations to Ray. He had a great ride and didn't let his mind get in the way of his win. It's hard to lead the race and even harder when you know someone is gunning for you BIG TIME. Ray did a great job and is a great competetor.

Some quick thank you's

Single Track Mind and Dave for always keeping the bike set up great
Vanmar Racing, Mark and Tammy for keeping me on some really good tires
XBAM and Bree for helping keep my mind and body focussed
Action Press and Ed for being a great pit crew

Finally to all the racers, cornerworkers and crew for making these weekends the incredibly fun events that they are.

If you haven't come to a race, it's worth your while. We have two races left this season and it's better than any reality show ever could be! Remember, it's racing and anything can happen!

I'm glad too. :D

I'm not really sure. Given the amount of damage to that entire section of the bike, my assumption is that it landed on it's face at some point during the tumble. The upper fairing stay is broken, as well as the fiberglass surrounding the attachment points. The "biggest" parts I need at this point (assuming the frame isn't bent) is a swingarm and a subframe, but I'm not gonna borrow those off of your bike. :D

Once we get the bike in my garage and hoisted up, I'll get the plastics off and assess the damage as I begin to remove pieces. I'm hoping it's not too far beyond the parts list I've already made, or it's gonna be a squeeze to have it repaired in time for PPIR.
