This is my first post on this site. I guess there is no better way to meet others than get riding with them.

Some history on me:
-Rode my friends suzuki ds-80 at 6, crashed it, bought it and have been riding since (off road, MX & quads) with a grin that can not be removed when on anything motorized.
-First street bike was a ZX-7 at the age of 16. Insurance was cheap in Montana due to it not being required in this state...so what the heck. Probably not the best bike choice for my first street bike...but...
-I had a few (2) Suzuki's in California when I was in the military. That was back in 1993-1997.
-Moved out to Colorado and this is were I will stay unless the wife wants to move to Alaska. Since she really doesn't like extreme cold weather...just don't see it happening. I have owned plenty of dirt bikes and a few quads while here. I always missed the street...so recently I went and got one. I finished up my MTA coarse and got the endorsement. The no endorsement tickets were getting old....so now I am legal, as it should be. I went in the class with an open mind, what do you know...learned a little bit while I was in the class.

It was a toss up between the R1 & CBR 1000. From my site name...I got the CBR 1000RR. It is slightly modded with no other plans to upgrade other than tires and wearable items.

Some of you have the same rules as I do while riding with others...and that is great. Having fun and pushing the limits a little is great, but stupid really does hurt. I am not a new-be, just a little rusty from not being on the street for several years...knowing that, I have not been too aggressive.

So I just wanted to say "HI" and see if anyone is up for a ride.

I'm thinking of joining you guys tomorrow, when and where? Map links or addresses would be a big help.

My story's similar to ChrisCBR, not a newb but rusty after being off the bike for a couple of years after an accident.

I look forward to meeting you guys.

What a great ride today. Russ, Ken & myself had a blast.

Bikes:

04 Honda 599 (fire hawk??)

05 Honda CBR 600RR

06 Honda CBR 1000RR

We went down I-25 (won't do that again) and took a fill up break at Colorado City/Rye. Then we proceeded to cruise up to Bishops Castle. After a few shots of the camera and some laughs, we went west. After making some pretty good time, we decided to head up HYW 96 to Westcliff. On the return trip we came down 96 to Hyw 115 and cruised that back to the Springs. Russ was the corner king of the day. He definitely made me look at a few things and some tire selections. Great ride today guys...you were all very safe and courteous to others...I'll ride with you anytime.

Next time when I have new tires, we will have to swap bikes Russ to see what the difference is between the 1000 and 600. (if you want too)

We did get to see a bunch of Big Horn Sheep on the way up to Westcliff...but I was too slow to snap a shot.

That was the most fun that I've had on my bike since I bought it. I'm definitely going to throw out a big thanks to you Chirs for organizing the ride. I had an absolute awesome time, we will just have to do it during the week next time. I might give your bike a run, once you get some new tarrs.
