So before I go stripping pieces off...here is some background....

Bought a bike used from some asshole, was told there were no oil leaks. Lo and behold, I finally tracked this leak to the Starter Clutch Cover...

So my question, is there actually a gasket in there? Has anyone replaced it before? Extimated time/best place to buy the part? Any advice is welcome. Should a bike with only 3400 miles have a leak there already?

Yes there should be a gasket there. And it may not be leaking cause of only having 3k on it. It could just be old. almost any motor cycle parts store should be fine to buy one most likely have to order it.

Cool, I was able to tighten each bolt either 1/4 or 1/2 of a turn fairly easily, so I kind of hope that fixes it....
