Got a couple openings in the NOC at Virtela, if anyone is interested:

Here's what my boss tells me we are looking for:

Able to perform customer service over the phone
Experience with ticketing systems (We use Siebel 7)
Knowledge of OSI model
Experience at ISP level (knowledge of TDM, ethernet)
Knowledge of TCP/IP (im looking for people who have worked with IP.not just configured an IP on a windows machine)
Experience with cisco/juniper/netscreen CCNA/JNCIA
Routing protocols (BGP, MPLS)

Some exposure or experience with the following:
Tunneling, ipsec, subnetting, VLANS, router configuration, switch configuration, Access lists
If you have any questions or want more specifics, feel free to email/PM me.

Virtela is a pretty good outfit- or at least I like working for them, and my tolerance for BS approaches zero. We are located in the Tech Center, off Orchard.

I wish I was smart enough for that. GL locating a good candidate. I have heard good things about your company as well.

Nope- this is the new and improved Siebel that thinks it's a ticketing system.

Cisco ain't bad- I prefer it to the Juniper stuff we use. Course, that's probably because Cisco is what I'm use to.
