That's nothin. Some hedge fund managers were taking home over a billion a year in total compensation.

Isn't Blackstone the mercenary fighters in Iraq? The so-called "security" group? We have spent over $600 billion on the war, I figure someone is making some money somewhere.

EDIT - Oops, my mistake. They are a private equity group. They made about $168M a quarter last year. If the main guy dropped his compensation back into the company, they would increase profits by 50%.

Yup. Blackstone, IIRC, is the private contractor that gets used for a lot of the less "elegant" jobs that need to get done. I'd imagine there is more than security going on for what they get paid, but what do I know.

Hell, I'd be highly successful just to make the INTEREST off of that kind of take...

Dude, it is the interwebs. Of course I thought you was talking out of your ass. :) It is nice to see that Mr. John Paulson made so much money on everyone elses pain. Of course, it is the NYT. You can't trust those liberal media elite. They went to good schools.

Shorting stocks should be a crime. We need new rules to stop these guys from killing otherwise good investments.
