I know this stuff will probably never turn up again, but my 08 STI got broken into last night after I got home from work, and all my stereo equiptment was stolen. Kenwood DNX 8120 DVD/GPS, 4 Channel RockFos amp, 10" JL sub and box... Everything but the deck was hidden... Broke a window, popped the hood, disabled the battery/alarm, and disconnected everything.. Nothing is cut, everything was cleanly removed. Kinda wierd. Apartment reported that no one else had reported anything stolen..

Figure they were scoping it out a while... Not sure how they knew everything was there though, as I NEVER listen to my stereo around the apartment..

If you hear of anyone selling such stuff, let me know...

Check those keywords out everyday on craigslist, and perhaps it'll turn up.

Wow then I would say some one got lucky, saw the HU and took a chance then hit the jackpot when they saw the cabling running to the trunk. Normally they don't mess with the alarms they just move on. Did they tear up the car pulling the equipment out?

If the car isn't already tinted I recommend you do that. Tint helps in 2 ways first it makes it harder to see in too see you got stuff two it takes longer to break into because the glass holds in place.

If you got renters insurance or home owners insurance they will normally cover this kinda stuff. Normal auto insurance will only cover the deck =(.

Sorry to hear it man. I got my car busted into twice while I lived in Cleveland. The first time, they stole all my stereo equipment, it cost me overe $1k just to put the glass back in it.......and I didn't have any insurance at the time. Worst yet, after almost 6 months of having no job, it was the morning I was to pick up my first paycheck!:scream1::banghead:

I think the Moose-limbs have the right idea about one thing though.......cut off the thieves right hands!

Best bet is to move out of the apartment and get a garage. Having nice stuff in a apartment complex is hard to do.
When I lived in a apartment years ago I even went as far as to put a car cover on. Bastards still set off the alarm a few times. Good luck man.

My car has been broken into twice.....BOTH IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE!!

Once at night, they took my cd player, tach and the stabilizing bar from under the hood.

The second was about 5 pm, the fooker just took the cd player face plate.

Moral of the story is if they want it, they will get it no matter the means.

That sounds to me like someone who either knows you or has seen you show the system off. Could also be someone with the same care (though you dont see many of the new STi's yet).

Back when I lived in an apartment, my truck was broken into, turned out to be the guy who lived above me, the same guy I had helped out a couple of times by buying him some groceries and stuff, apparently on one trip to the store he was scoping things out, knew my schedule and saw an opportunity. Little bastich got caught when his roommate saw all the stuff and called the cops, didn't want to be a part of that I guess. My point is it might be someone you tallk to everyday, that knows when you come and when you go.

You may want to look into a security film / laminate for your next tint job. It involves removing your windows to apply it, but you can get it strong enough to resist small arms fire. Should at least slow down the common thief.
