Don't know if it qualifies as a "Halloween" movie, but there is only ONE movie that really scares the shit out of me, no matter how many times I see it, is...

The Shining

From the intro scene with the car driving in the mountains and that eerie music track, I get chills to the very end. Great flick!

(not to be confused with this Shining... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmkVWuP_sO0) :)

What are some really freeky shit scary movies?

I am not a very creative person, but I have always wanted to write a scary move screenplay. But it has to be "in you face scary". A really good one. It's something I want to do, but knowing I don't have the creativity to do it.

Okay???? So name your most freeked out thoughts?! What dreams do you have that make you sweat and pop up out of bed?

After a few days his legs become infected to the point he needs to amputate one of them. So he cokes up and uses the kit to remove his own leg.

After a couple more days without food, he decides to eat his own leg, which he does.
Then he other leg becomes infected…

...All time scarest for me is Trilogy of Terror 2 ....

I know #1's available at Blockbuster, not sure if #2 is.

Trilogy of Terror #1 FTW.
The story with the little Tiki doll that chases the chick around the apartment till she finally throws it in the oven.
Won't ruin the ending but it's great. (For an old TV scarey movie.)

Every Thanksgiving I creep out my little sister just by holding up a knife making the noise the little sucker made while he was terrorizing around.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

This reminded me of the coolest thing I had from childhood. I remember KHOW doing a Denver version of War of the Worlds. I remember sitting in the car for like an hour listening to this thing and was absolutely fascinated. My dad requested a copy of the radio program from KHOW and got it... I listened to it so much, the tape (yes kids, we used to have cassette tapes) broke. He tried to get another one, but due to ownership changes, the radio station had lost all of the archives. I was in Seattle last February and at the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, they have an entire display dedicated to War of the Worlds... I loved it and sat there for at least 45 minutes listening to the original radio broadcast... anything that can cause mass panic can't be all bad right?!

Salsa....

Put yo scary sheit here so I can copy this thread and save all the scary movies I have to rent.

ya'll know I'm ADHD. Can we keep some organizational skills?

THAT WOULD BE SUPER!!!!!!!!!!! :)

hmmmmm... I don't know, I'm not into the hack n slash films

Hostel - hated it
Saw 1 - sucked... never saw any of the other ones
Blair Witch - suckiest suck that ever sucked... the only thing scary about that movie was that when it was over we went out to the patio for a smoke and when I opened the blinds there was a homeless guy on our patio. I jumped, my friend screamed, he ran... that was freaky, but the movie was a straight up abomination to anything vaguely resembling a good theatrical release.

I've always preferred the mental scary movies... I really liked Silence of the Lambs

Oh, and despite what some might say, the original Alien was a horror flick and awesometacular to boot.

Not a "Halloween" movie, but I got several jumps out of Ghost in the Darkness.

As an adult, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder gave me the eeby jeebies... That dude was a straight up pedo!

Also, not really a scary movie, but was damn funny - Behind_the_Mask:_The_Rise_of_Leslie_Vernon (http://www.behindthemaskthemovie.com/) - a mockumentary detailing the actions of a serial killer... I loved this movie.

LOL,
When I was in Jr. High a bunch of us got to do a project and decided to try to do a remake of the radio WOTW broadcast.
We got to use the district recording studio, had copies of the original scripts, and a library of sound effects and everything.

But being like 12 or 13, none of our voices sounded sufficiently weighty to pull it off straight, so we lampooned it instead.

Turned out really funny, they even played in on one of the local radio stations.

13 ghosts was fun (the remake, I haven't yet, but still want to see the original)... not epically scary, but fun.

Hands down the scariest was The Omen (the original) and I'm dating myself.
