I acquired ahttp://forums.coloradoracing.net/style_images/Midnight-342/nav_m.gif Nexsan ATABoy2 Fibere RAID Network Storage Device, and want to see if i can cheaply hook it up to my network.

To sum it up I want to connect this:

You could use a Media Converter. Here are some examples.

You can get what you need at microcenter for about 10 bucks

Pull the GBIC out of the Host1 port on the RAID box, and stick it in one of the empty SFP slots on your switch. You'll also need a fiber cable to connect the two, but that's easy enough.

Beyond that, go find some documentaton online on how to configure that thing with an address and do something useful with it, cause physical connectivity is only the start. ;)

I pondered that guess i will try it! humm where can i get cables in Fort Collins :crazy:

Whats the correct cable for that type of transceiver?

I am all over the manual for setting it up, its fiber i was unfamiliar with
