Its a good video that one needs to view. And if your a little fuzzy about what the second amendment means you should watch it twice. On a side note its nice to see conservatives making videos to spread their word.

Pfft...right wing propaganda.

We have police to keep you safe from criminals and we have the military to keep you safe from outside threats. The only reason to have a firearm is to intimidate your neighbors or have it go off in the hands of your kids. There is no logical, rational reason to own a weapon, period.

well the good part is that my line of thinking seems to resemble the majority of the group here, problem is that sometimes, stuff said like this people actually believe. If fact the reason being is i was just talking to someone at work about this yesterday, and said almost the same thing, and was serious. so call it a flash back...

I too hope you are joking.

Why carry a gun? Because it is much lighter than carrying a cop!!

I've spent the weekend at Jeff's Family Re-Education Fun Camp and Gulag.

...and yes I was entirely sarcastic. A person's safety, health, wealth and life are the sole responsiblity of themselves and not government. Bureaucracies are incapable of making timely, efficacious and economically viable decisions for all of the above, no matter what Jeff believes.

Why own guns? Because when seconds matter, the police are only minutes away!

Wow, do us all a favor. Call your local police station and ask them if it's their job to protect you OR to investigate crime AFTER the fact. I think you'll be surprised. It takes an average police precinct 7 minutes to respond to a call...you think you even have enough time to get out your cell phone?

Why do I carry?

Because cops are too heavy.

Why do I carry a .357 magnum?

Because they don't make a .358

It's not the bureaucracy that will be making the decisions for you under the new world order, it will be ME.

Don't worry Shea, this happens a lot.
The re-education sometimes doesn't take the first time through.

In my defense you gotta take the substandard materials I'm working with into account.

Jeff has got it right though. If your going to be a safer socialist society the only safe position to hold in the one running it. Shit rolls down hill after that.

Who knew mass executions and re-education camps were classified as "benevolant"? :)

But then again, you believe that my administration (full of liberty, freedom for all peoples and a belief in limited government) is fascist... :wtf:

I see them as more a Social Capitalists with Neo-Conservative tendencies, but never a fascist. (Thats giving them to much credit.)

I believe you are making the mistake of inferring that I was talking about the current administration and not the fictional administration that I run. I don't consider the Bush administration to be anything close to what I described.
