I've been trying to find info on a 1991 cbr 600f. I can't find any specs, just pictures and sites in languages I can't understand. Can anyone help?

I think what you're looking for is the F2 (the '91 CBR600 had an F2 designation). There is a member in the club that has one Here's the link to his profile (http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/club/members/ChrisGoodman.html) - maybe you can get in touch with him and he can help you out (there used to be 2 members with this bike, but one of them died this past winter in a skiing accident).

Hope this helps.

When you say specs are you talking about the generic specs that Honda releases?

If you wants specific numbers, go hit the main library in Denver.

I would bet they have back issues of just about every magazine, and then just get the specs out of one of the old Cycle World's. I went to the doctor a while back and saw a motorcycle mag sitting on the table in the waiting room and picked it up. It was from 1991!!! That was a hoot reading their first impressions of all these old bikes.

You're kidding right?

Quite easily found by typing '1991 CBR 600' into the google search page, which yields these results:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=1991+CBR+600

rforsythe posted the link that I was going to start with, drats.

Another place to try is the CBRlist http://www.cbrlist.com/index.htm
They have an FAQ that may be of some interest to you.

http://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/~bgfinlay/cbr600.htm This link has some real good info. Ok so now you have it, what can I expect to have happen. Check it out.

When I got my '89 cbr600 I did the same as what you are doing now. You have to be patient, the information is out there just have to dig for it. I finally went diging through my closet and found some old motorcycle mags and read through those. Now that I think of it I may have a few reviews of the cbr600f2. If you would like I could xerox those and send them to you.

Would the maintainers of CSC be opossed to setting up a "DB" of bike info?

Well looks like you have a few good places to start. If you need any more really specific info on the bike let me know and I'll help you out.

Not necessarily opposed to it, but what would set this one apart from the others? I.e. there are already a few of these on the net, so how would this one provide a unique benefit instead of duplicating something else?

There are also a lot of other club and site projects either in-progress or on the list right now so this would be quite a ways out from implementation even assuming it was worth doing. :)

I was just thinking that some of the info would be nice to have handy. I'm almost sure that some of the members have aready done the same things that we have done here. And maybe some would be willing give up their secrets.

One of the mags that I have at home had an article about "Great bikes of the 80's". It had a breif rundown of the popular performance bikes. Then went into the suggested performance tweaks. I have yet to find that on the web, at least for my old bike.

onef: I see where you're going with that, that's not a bad idea. Lemme think about it some more, and again it would take a while to do that with everything else we're trying to get done so be patient. :)

Erratic - I found that first link as part of I think the 3rd link on the google page (somewhere around there). Just had to dig a little deeper than the main page, there is a 'bike specifications' link on the left side of whatever page I pulled up - just a couple clicks from there. :D
