Dr. Zhivago
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Plan 9 from Outer Space :)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
A Clockwork Orange
2001: A Space Odyssey
The Godfather (and part II)
Apocalypse Now

http://www.boulder.swri.edu/%7Eterrell/images/goofy.gif I mainly mentioned ones old enough that they might be tempted to redo them. Well, I doubt Plan 9 would be redone anytime soon. :) For spring chickens like yourself, these come to mind:

Gladiator
Saving Private Ryan
The Right Stuff
The Silence of the Lambs
Pulp Fiction
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Amadeus
Gandhi

Oh come on, remaking Clockwork Orange would be sweet! Nothing like a bit of the ol' ultraviolence, eh?

Remaking any Kubrick film would be an exercise in futility. :)

Yeah, but with today's effects, the scene beating down the guy in his own house would be extra fun. Weeeellly welly well!

I thought of both of those before I clicked on the thread.

Shawshank Redemption
Star Wars

Some excellent choices there. I haven't seen White Heat. And I'd hate to see them remake West Side Story because it's a musical. Musicals just seem to annoy the shit out of me. :)

It's the only musical that I will ever admit I have ever taken the time to watch. I can relate being a Jet.

The only way I'd watch a remake of a ACO would be strapped to a chair with my eyes pried open!

Here is a novel idea.....

What if those fuckers in Hollywood come up with something ORIGINAL and stop making remakes?

For fucks sake they are remaking "My Bloody Valentine" oh it is in 3d....

Shit...wrong thread. Oh well, big friggin deal
