One of my co-workers was just telling me a story about when he served on a Navy supply ship.
They were laying along side of a missle cruiser, sitting in an outward compartment with the outside hatch open.
Directly across from the open door was one of the cruiser's Phalanx gatling gun.
They're sitting drinking coffee and the thing pivots, aims right at them, and the barrels start spinning like it's about to fire.

He said several people were injured diving to ground and out the door.
Can't say I blame em.

The C.I.W.S Close In Weapons System
Also called the Christ It Won't Shoot!!!!

They should be more concerned about having a SPG-51 Fire Control radar trained on them. That is the kind of shit you can't see.
The conversation would be like "mmmmm do you smell BBQ?"

Had a buddy in Korea working flight line cop. He walked behind a bomber with a tail gun and it followed him where ever he went. Someone apparently forgot to turn it off. I don't know much about it, but that would freak me out.
